Seahawks veteran long snapper Kevin Houser is in a Seattle area hospital with a collapsed lung, but hopes to be out by Christmas Eve.
Long snappers usually aren’t noticed unless they screw up, but Houser’s effort Sunday was courageous. Or crazy.
He was hurt while covering a punt in the second quarter, but took a painkilling injection to keep playing. He snapped on Seattle’s next extra point, but ultimately collapsed on the Seahawks sideline while covering a punt in the third quarter.
“I feel bad because of that effort and his desire to be an impacting
guy on our team that he’s in the hospital now,” coach Jim Mora said. “But he’s feeling better.
We just hope he’s home for Christmas Eve.”
Houser will be placed on injured reserve. Cornerback Kelly Jennings replaced Houser late in Seattle’s loss, but the team will likely bring in Jeff Robinson for the final two games of the season.

Someone smelled Chuck Norris’ armpit once and their lungs collapsed.
so how did Jennings do? Long Snapper is no joke, Steelers lost their guy to a torn ACL on the extra point attempt on the last play of the game.
a cornerback at long-snapper? talk about an opportunity for a blocked kick..
Crazy. That is that sort of injury that if the collapse was severe enough, it could be career ending. He should have had x-rays on site before being allowed back in the game if the medical staff ever suspected it.
Cue the idiots complaining the Packers never get any team at full strength.
As scary as the injury is you completely glossed over the best part of this story…Kelly Jennings…5’9″ and 170 pounds is the Seahawks back-up long snapper. A cornerback is, for some odd reason, the back-up long-snapper rather than, say, the normal center.
The Seahawks are a collapsed team.
