Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh didn't become the second defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy.
But he became the first defensive player to win another national award.
John Taylor of CFT has the details -- which is our way of saying "go check out CFT."
Now go check out CFT.
And get your shine box while you're at it.

With Sam Bradford coming off an injury and Jimmy Clausen not looking like a number one pick, the Rams would be nuts to not take Suh.
You have to rebuild through the trenches if you want to win in the NFL.
Still waiting for you to acknowledge a "defensive MVP" list along with your normal MVP list.
Can mention Woodson in MVP talk, but not seriously enough. Easier just to separate offense and defense, not like you have to spend money on plaques or anything.
Michael Lewis of the 49ers should get an honorable mention.
Here's why.

Hey, when you "John Taylor has the details" on these shitbox ads, just write "John Taylor stole this information from (insert person who actually did the work)."
He deserves it too
I couldn't disagree more. The Ram's would be foolish not to take Clausen or Bradford. This of course is purely based on the fact that I want my Lions to get Suh.
chris long, adam carriker, now Suh? i understand there is a new regime in st. louis, but i dont see this happening. i think someone will emerge with freakish workout numbers. maybe Suh will be the one to put up 40 bench reps, then i think we can say he will be no. 1 for sure. but i will give everyone else a chance to impress and for the hype to grow.
I'm sure Holmgren is thrilled that Mangini ruined his chance to take Suh.
Yeah - that's going to help Mangini keep his job.
Clausen MUST have a good combine if he wants to be the Rams first overall pick. If not, I can easily see them get Suh, then trade him. Have not seen a defensive player get this type of hype in a long time, which could lead him to be traded during draft day.
Suh is a beast. The only thing that worries me is the rest of that Nebraska line is pretty damn good and gets little recognition. I just wonder how much is help from that line. However, I have a lot fewer questions aobut him than anyone else in this draft. Unless Suh hijacks a bus full of nuns and drives them off a cliff without saying he's learned form his mistake, he goes first overall. If he doesn't apologize for hijacking the nuns, he'll still be first.
I agree with Aikman...Glad to see SOMEBODY puts things properly into perception.
It is what it is, RIGHT?
Love the Goodfellas reference!
ooooooooo, first defensive player in all of 11 years! How momentous!
It's a great move for the Rams to get Suh. Everything else aside, Spags will develop him very well.
Yeah, why draft on what a player has done on the field? Draft players based on performance without pads on... Al Davis' boner in his sweat pants is already excited to find the best athlete at the Combine... It has served him well in his drafts.
I still don't understand why some people go mad over a combine that doesn't even have the guy wearing pads
I really don't care if the guy can bench 24 times or 27 times that particular day
If St. Louis takes Suh, how much money will they have tied up on the defensive line? Nope, they're taking a quarterback or trading back to someone that needs one (and yes, I think that could happen because of the uncapped year).
That would be '07, '08, and '10 first round picks on d-lineman (not to mention the OT from last year). They have no playmaking ability. They have no quarterback.
They would be fools to take Suh one, and the Lions would be fools not to take him second.
Michael Lewis for honorable mention?
Yeah, last week's game was proof of that as DeSean Jackson continually torched him after McNabb's play action had him stunned.

What makes you say Clausen is "not looking like a number one pick"?
If Clausen is drafted #1, hell in the top 15, I know absolutely nothing about football, or the person who made the pick will be out of a job in 2 years. Clausen is garbage with a capital G!!!
Clausen is not the number 1 pick...you can't blame Weis for every ill that occurred at ND. That team is always full of HS All-Americans and still once they hit the field are beaten by powerhouses like Navy. At some point you have to say the players are the problem. So, he put up some numbers - so did the guys at Houston a few years back. Suh, Bradford, and McCoy all deserve to go higher.
Clausen = Brady Quinn. Same guy, same system, same pro. AKA, nothing special.
Suh, is a freaking beast. I saw that guy breaking through double- and triple-teams the whole game against Texas. And maybe the reason the rest of that Nebraska d-line looks good is because of Suh. When you have to devote three guys to him on every play, it makes things easier for the other guys.
If I was a Rams fan I want the Rams to make everyone and their momma think that they're taking Suh, then when it gets closer to draft time I start talking to the Lions, Browns, Chiefs, etc. about trading down.
I think Suh will be great, but I think Claussen is as NFL ready as you'll ever see coming to the pros, and I'm taking a franchise QB over a great DT. This way they get their guy and maybe pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder or something.
The Rams won't take a QB #1 overall. It's either trade the pick or draft Suh. To the guy who said Carriker and Long make too much money, Carriker was not a top 10 pick and doesn't make all that much.
