Cribbs wins second straight special team POW award

There was little doubt that it would happen, and now it’s official.

With two kickoff returns for touchdowns against the Chiefs on Sunday, Browns receiver Josh Cribbs has been named the AFC special teams player of the week for the second straight time.

He now holds the all-time career record for kickoff returns for a touchdown, with eight.  That’s two more than a cluster of other players, including Gale Sayers and Dante Hall.

“That guy is special,” a league source told us earlier this morning.

So, Mr. Holmgren, please pay the man.

Ok, this man deserves his props. Hes on a team that is struggling. I hope for the franschise’s sake, Holmgren cleans house. Get rid of Quinn and Anderson, get a decent QB in there and some help for him and do something already. I dont know what QB to get, as there arent many free agents out there worth a look, but someone, anyone. Maybe Jackson from Minn.

Well deserved. He was possessed last Sunday. I dont think anyone will argue this one.

Glad you were able to confirm that…

Now, somebody please tell me how Jerome Harrison did NOT win AFC Offensive POW?? 286 yards rushing and 3TD’s, on the road, is not good enough?

Does anyone have a list of potential free agent qbs? anyway, Cribbs is a very exciting player and will most likely set the record a lot higher than 8 tds. Wow florio, you managed to NOT take a cheap shot at the browns….in that christmas spirit i see

If he were on the Bears, they would have move him to….let’s say a CB or even a WR. Thanks for the memories Lovie.

I highly doubt Philly lets the guy go but Kolb has done well with his limited opportunities…but so did Scott Mitchell when he was in Miami.

    Duh.
Why don’t they just name this award after him? Heck, name the NFC one after him too. He should’ve won it this week as well.

NFL_1974 — I want Kevin Kolb from Philly. That guy threw for 300+ yards in every game he played but is stuck behind McNabb (when McNabb is healthy).

I must give Florio props. After watching Cribbs for the past few years, I had no idea he is a “special player”. Thank you for the investigative journalism.

I didn’t see anyone giving thanks to the Chiefs for making Cribbs AFC special teams player of the week. This Sunday they’ll be padding someone else’s future contract with the honors they will bestow on him. Maybe by some sad irony it will be LJ.

WOW, you must’ve had to dig deep for that one.

Who was the league source, Common Sense?

Cribbs in a good person and I know he will get what he deserved. As for a QB, Let’s see Vick in Cleveland until we find a real one.

Cribbs is a beast on the field… He’s single handedly carried this team…
And what’s great about it is the fact that JC is a good person, does alot of charitable work and seems to have his head on straight…
Cleveland would be smart to “show him the money” and soon… you don’t want this guy to hit free agency…
