As the Texans prepare for one of the most important games in eight seasons of action, they could be without one of the rookie defensive players who have made the biggest impact on the team.
Linebacker Brian Cushing, a sure-fire candidate for the defensive rookie of the year award, has missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with injuries to both a foot and to his ribs.
Tackle Duane Brown (knee) practiced on a limited basis on Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday. Receiver Andre Davis (finger) was a new addition to the injury report on Thursday with a finger injury.
Tight end Joel Dreessen (shoulder) participated fully in practice Thursday after practicing on a limited basis on Thursday.
For the Dolphins, defensive end Jason Taylor (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday, after missing Wednesday’s session. Linebacker Reggie Torbor (hamstring) is the only other player on the report — he has fully participated on both Wednesday and Thursday.
The 7-7 Texans face the 7-7 Dolphins in Houston on Sunday. A win by the Texans would match their single-season high, and it would keep them alive for the first playoff appearance in team history.
No way Texans make the playoffs, but Cushing is a killer and the Texans need him out there if they want to win. DROY, hell he could make the pro bowl.
How is this newsworthy? Cushing has missed almost every practice since mid season and plays on Sunday, there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary in regards to this week, than from previous weeks. To report that “they could be without him” is sensationalist.
Pretty sure they’re playing this one in Florida.
Cush = Stud.
He’ll play, and play well
