Gandy goes to injured reserve for Cardinals

When Cardinals starting left tackle Mike Gandy underwent sports hernia surgery last week, it was unclear if the injury would officially end his season.

They cleared that up Thursday.  Gandy was placed on injured reserve because of a roster squeeze in Arizona and the uncertain timeline for his return.

The Cardinals have enjoyed enviable offensive line continuity over the last two years, but it’s not a devastating loss.  Jeremy Bridges has stepped in well enough at left tackle.

After making $5 million this season, it seems unlikely Gandy will be back in Arizona unless he’s willing to take a big pay cut.

Players fake sports hernias when Chuck Norris is on their remaining schedule knowing a real sports hernia will happen when they play him.
