Haynesworth fined $10K, Jacobs $7,500

Having DeAngelo Hall’s back is a costly job.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was fined $10,000 for throwing (and landing) a punch in defense of Hall Monday night.

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was fined $7,500 for his involvement in the altercation, which included a few wild swings and misses from Jacobs.  So connecting on a punch apparently costs you $2,500.

That disparity in fine is odd, as was the lack of a penalty on Jacobs during the game. We suspect Haynesworth’s fine would have been higher if he did serious damage with his punch.

Jacobs’ fine was officially for unnecessary roughness, and Haynesworth’s for unsportsmanlike conduct.

What a joke. If anything Jacobs deserved more for picking a fight on a dude half his size in DeAngelo Hall. Haynesworth would whoop that a@@ in a street fight IMO, whether or not Jacobs is a “trained” fighter. But I digress…

the league is turning into women
    like seriously unnecessary roughness?
it is so stupid with these weird late hit calls

    Dummies

  4. Stone says: Dec 24, 2009 7:19 PM

How about since Haynesworth is a multiple repeat offender his fine is higher? Isn’t this the guy who stomped on another player’s head at one point? Or does everything get erased from memory once a dude is making $100 mill?

Two a-holes that need a little more self control.

  6. MEDTXPACK says: Dec 24, 2009 7:23 PM

well at least hanyesworth has all that money he doesnt deserve to pay the fine. Jacobs looked like a thug out there.
Who the hell throws a punch at someone wearing a HELMET anyway?!

  7. Zaggs says: Dec 24, 2009 7:29 PM

Or Haynes worth got fined more because pussy bitch Hall couldn’t handle what he started when he decided to wap Jacobs after the ball hit the turf and Haynesworth had to come in and save Deangelo’s pathetic ass.

I still can’t believe Hines Ward won the dirtiest player in the league over that jackass Haynesworth. Furthermore, I cannot believe how many people believe he is a dirty player just because he was voted so. It just goes to show the power of suggestion when a clean playing, hard hitting wide receiver, that always gets up with a smile, gets the title over a cleat stomping, field fighting POS like Haynesworth.

L A M E. I usually agree with NFL’s strict enforcement but seriously, are they checking the tape?
AND Jacobs didn’t get a penalty so it was another body on top of the pile for the Skins.

For a guy his size, Jacobs is weak. His arms look like my little sister’s. That’s probably why he started backpedaling when Haynesworth challenged him (watch the video). “Not scared of anyone” my @ss. He’s fine picking on a guy he outweighs by 100 pounds and backpedals like a punk when a bigger guy steps in.
Haynesworth might be an idiot, but I have no problem coming to one of his teammate’s defense when a punk like Jacobs starts swinging.

Also, DeAngelo Hall is pure crap, in life and on the football field. If he was half as good as he thought he was he would be a perennial pro bowler.

Deangelo hall is the punkiest punk on punk street in punkville.
One of my favorite plays from a couple of years back is when Deangelo tried to jump on a pile in a game against Dallas and Marc Colombo swatted him in mid air. It looked like Deangelo traveled 10 feet the other way and landed on his backside. Deangelo has chihuahua syndrome.

    @dpa6
Yes Brandon Jacobs, who put up 225 lbs at the combine 19 times (which is probably at least 18 more times than you ever could) is built like your sister, making your sister one of the strongest trannies in the world.

  14. Quentin673 says: Dec 24, 2009 9:11 PM

jacobs is a punk. he talks a big game, and acts tough versus 180 pound dbs, but when somebody his size or bigger gets involved he tries to backpeddle. its not the first instance of his punkness. i remember a few years back he flopped to the ground when somebody barely touched him. the vlade divac of the nfl.

  15. BrentonDuvs says: Dec 24, 2009 9:12 PM

This is ridiculous. Those of you saying Haynesworth is a bitch and what not, look at the tape. Haynesworth defended his teammate against a street rat named Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs is the kind of player that gives the NFL a “thug” image. If Haynesworth was fined at all, it should’ve been because of the incident two years prior, which he knows will follow him wherever he goes. Obviously he should not have gotten involved, because he can’t do that kind of stuff any more. But for the NFL to fine Jacobs more than Haynesworth is insulting and makes the league look like a total joke. Brandon Jacobs is pure scum.

  16. JayMan says: Dec 24, 2009 10:08 PM

Seriously, you can’t knock jacobs on his size… he’s 270 for crying out loud. And hall was the instigator, haynesworth was just looking for a fight as he always is. Hall is an over-rated punk, heck even a coach tried to ruff his punk ass up. At least jacobs and haynesworth play their positions well.
I’d bet the only reason the fines were different is because of haynesworth’s history. He almost stomped that dudes eyeball out awhile back. Both looked pretty dumb throwing punches against helmets… good thing they didn’t connect otherwise they would be playing with casts on their hands. Hell, helmets are designed to prevent damage from blows to the head. It was all pretty dumb.

  17. Igottz5onit says: Dec 24, 2009 10:10 PM

    @BrentonDuvs
I will say I do agree with you that this time, Haynesworth was not the A-hole the fine would illustrate him as. However, in general he is a dirty SOB and has the track record that justifies the higher fine, due to his repeat offenses on the field.

  18. 34_Fan_4_Life says: Dec 24, 2009 10:25 PM

These fines are a complete disgrace to the league.
Brandon Jacobs grabs a guys facemask, pushes his headstraight back in an attempt to break something important and doesn’t even get a flag thrown his way.
Haynesworth, even thought he’s a piece of shit, runs to the aid of a teammate that is grossly overmatched and outweighed and he get the penalty AND the higher fine.
    What a joke.

That’s pathetic for a guy that weights as much as him.
Hell I weight 165lbs and I can do it 8-10 times.

  20. dpa6 says: Dec 24, 2009 10:32 PM

    Igottz5onit:
As I said, he’s a weak little p*&&y for his size. He’s 270 pounds and his arms look like a little Somali child’s arms. If my sister weighed 270 lbs., she could do 19 reps too.

  21. Igottz5onit says: Dec 24, 2009 10:48 PM

Usually I do not respond to people who talk about how strong they are online but since it is Christmas Eve, I will simply say this:
    Fair Enough.
Have a happy holiday tomorrow, and hopefully we can watch a good game tomorrow night so they will continue Christmas games next year.

  22. promin1 says: Dec 24, 2009 11:23 PM

I wish all you internet tough guys would just shut the F up. I’d like any of you to tell Jacobs or Haynesworth they were scum or had little girl arms to their face. None of you homos were on the field and have no idea who started what.
And to BrentonDuvs….I live in the NY area and Jacobs does alot of charity work and good things for the area and for the children here, so maybe you should shut your cumtrap before you call guys scum. 99.9% of NFL players talk trash. That doesn’t make them scum retard.

  23. Bigbluefan says: Dec 24, 2009 11:34 PM

First off I have had the pleasure of meeting Brandon and his arms are far from skinny and as far as Fat Albert He could not win a fight with a 2nd grader that fat tub or lard is one more waste on the skins roster
One can hope that the new folks will cut the fat and get his blimp ass of the team

    ZAGGS,
“Or Haynes worth got fined more because pussy bitch Hall couldn’t handle what he started when he decided to wap Jacobs after the ball hit the turf and Haynesworth had to come in and save Deangelo’s pathetic ass.”
You obviously don’t know crap about football from the look of your statement. Even a preschooler knows on a play like that, the player ( Hall ) would play through the whistle to keep Jacobs from picking up the ball cleanly in case it turned out to be a fumble.
Jacobs wasn’t smart enough to know about the Hoculi Rule and neither are you. Hall was right and Jacobs was wrong. Thus the league didn’t fine Hall.

another idiot with a keyboard. Yeah, cuz Ron Dayne had back to back 1,000 yd seasons and defenses were afraid to tackle him. One down year and all the douchebags jump on it. Get a clue F-bag
