Haynesworth sent home for disciplinary reasons

Albert Haynesworth has had a week reminiscent of his early days in Tennessee.

On Monday night, he threw a punch and was eventually fined for it.

Then he made it very clear he was not impressed with the team’s coaching staff.

And to cap off the week, Haynesworth was sent home from the team facility Friday for disciplinary reasons.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports that Haynesworth showed up late for a team meeting and was told not to attend practice.  Haynesworth still dressed, then was involved in an “animated conversation” with coach Jim Zorn for 15 minutes while his teammates stretched, before leaving the facility.

“He wasn’t belligerent or nasty to me, and I wasn’t nasty to him,” Zorn confirmed.  “It’s just something that needed to be done.”

Haynesworth will play Sunday, although it’s unclear if he’ll start.  And his behavior is unlikely to have a lasting impact because Zorn won’t be in Washington for long.

Haynesworth, like everyone else, knows Zorn is a goner and is treating him accordingly.

Well, I suppose ‘The Danny’ is happy with that signing.
The amazing thing is the guy can show up late for meetings, get in fights in games, argue with the coaches, and they’ll still let him play. The inmates are running the asylum in Washington. If this is what Bruce Allen is going to allow things won’t get better under his watch.

Nice way to reward the people who paid him 100 mil, no matter how the season has gone.

Haynesworth is a bum and will always be one. So happy Snyder overpaid for this piece of garbage and used so much cap space at the same time.
The Skins need a quarterback, an offensive line, and about 3 secondary players to replace the over ated guys they have.

This guy is a class A dick and the Skins have gotten exactly what they deserved from this sack for throwing all them trees at him. People call Flo the slimiest player in the league, yeah I don’ t think so.

Fat Albert, that dirty son of a bitch. 100 million dollar man alright. lol

  13. charliewade says: Dec 25, 2009 4:02 PM

I’ve never understood why you’d keep a player out of practice for disciplinary reasons, then let him play. All you’re doing is hurting your own team since practice is supposed to make him and the team better. But since almost all players loathe practice anyway, you’re just doing him a nice favor.
If he’s not going to play anyway, then I can see it. But if he is, how does that do anything except hurt your team? Aren’t these coaches imaginative enough (or smart enough) to think of a different punishment that only hurts the player and not the team?

    _________
Calling Zorn a “Coach” is a stretch.
He tried to pull a Bill B and it backfired on him, happens when players don’t respect you or your authority. Zorn is merely a seat warmer and everyone knows it.

HAYNESWORTH thought he was FARVE & ZORN was CHILLY, … 100 million dollars well spent, Mr. Snyder

  17. downwithdansnyder says: Dec 25, 2009 4:29 PM

Maybe Zorn poitned out that Haynesworth seemed to be on the sideline every time the ‘Skins defense needed him. It’s one thing to be a fat out of shape guy with quicks, but when you can’t even get to work on time when you have $100M reasons to, you know other than the fact your supposed to love it…it’s a sad statement. Guaranteed contracts are terrible for guys like him. Especially when free agent DT 1b was had for 40% of his price.

Pervy_Harvin I have seen you posting all season long and couldn’t be happier to see the Vikings unravel come end of season. You sir seem like a loser that cant wait to see what responses you get from your uninteresting posts. Nothing funny or smart comes about which is why there even is a message board. You suck and so does drama queen Brett Favre and so does your clown looking coach. Vikings cant win in clutch outside the dome. Doubt they can even handle Chicago.

    ………………………………………
I don’t know about that…Zorn will be gone but it shows how classy Albert is…but sticking the knife in seems to be the Redskins way & I dont imagine the new regime are going to give props to the people who show themselves to be whiners & quitters…
with all the whining recently about players not talking to the press …reading his comments makes me realize that a simple dont bother me WILF style is far better than reading the garbage these guys spew

    Pervy goes blah blah blah

  30. lebowski says: Dec 25, 2009 6:51 PM

I don’t care what you think of Zorn as a coach, the way he is being treated in Washington by the owner (a first class d-bag who couldn’t run a football team if his life depended on it), his assistants (interviewing for his job behind his back), other prospective coaches (Shanahan weasling his way in for two years now) and now his own players is just plain wrong. I will be rooting for the Redskins to continue their shitty ways for many years to come, they deserve it.

  31. johnster says: Dec 25, 2009 6:55 PM

Jim Zorn originally took the OC job, and Snydly couldn’t find anyone to be the head coach… I think Zorn probably saw it as a no lose situation… Too bad he over-reached in that role. He is a damn good QB, hopefully still a damn good QB coach. Steve Largent would not be in the HOF without Zorn. Personally, Snydly is too busy trying to be Jerky Jones jr. As a coach, if I could not hire my own staff, I don’t take the job… That is directed at Jerky and Snydly, and grampa Davis as well. At least this mess bodes well to let the cowgirls get to the playoffs and self destruct again.

  32. swingbag says: Dec 25, 2009 6:59 PM

Even though I live in Virginia I’m not a Skins fan. I think Zorn is getting a bum deal. Yes he has made some bad decisions, but who wouldn’t with the bunch he has to coach! Fat Albert gets hurt every other play and has to come out. Hall can not make a tackle and Landry can’t cover an ant. Jason Campbell has taken a beating all season and has not complained. He is a class guy and will make some team a good QB if he gets protection

  33. Fred Cox says: Dec 25, 2009 7:08 PM

Jason Campbell was taken one pick after Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 draft. Rodgers had the advantage of having the same head coach and QB coach for all 5 years in GB along with sitting and learning the game the first 3 years. It would be interesting if Campbell would have had the same development as Rodgers has had. He might be a pretty good QB also.

Can you imagine the coverage if this was one of the Cowboys DTs and Wade Phillips?

  38. Mick730 says: Dec 25, 2009 8:07 PM

One minor correction: Aaron Rodgers has not had the same head coach and qb coach for his entire five seasons in Green Bay.
On a side note, Pervy, it is irrelevant what you have been eating or drinking today as you are “surrounded by friends and family”. You can’t spell or write a proper english sentence at any time no matter by whom it is you’re surrounded. One small bit of advice for what it’s worth; your “friends and family” might consider it bad manners that you spend the entire Christmas holiday posting nonsense on a football chat site while they sit twiddling their thumbs, or watching you vomit.

guy is a part time player who has had not impact on this team at all. He is a negative guy and appears to constantly cry about everything.

As a Steeler fan, I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I do have a respect for manual labor’s, and for unemployed people. To bad that you don’t. Must be hard to live the jaded life that you do. Let me guess, your idea of charity is giving yourself a handjob?? At this point, any of your comments have become totally irrelevant to any conversations, since you have proven to be a snob, who has never done anything of value in your life. Too bad that you aren’t unemployed yourself. Actually, I have the feeling that you are not able to be unemployed since as a child in your mother’s basement, you are not of age yet to get an actual job. I feel badly for the first fool that does give you one though. Poor old McDonald’s will never be the same. BTW, seems that you need to work on your grammar so you don’t fail 7th. grade Language Arts.

I agree, he was overpaid (as all of the NFL is.) Haynesworth is one of the top dt’s of all time and he knows it. A whole coaching staff may be replaced before Haynesworth is. What I’m saying is he’s good enough to get away with almost whatever he wants. Like him or not it’s a fact. Wish he was still at TN.
