Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens became the sixth player in NFL history to catch 1,000 passes in his career Sunday in the Bills’ 31-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Owens had four catches for 39 yards to join Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, Cris Carter, Tim Brown and Isaac Bruce in the 1,000-catch club.
“I just go out and play the game,” Owens said afterward. “I’m blessed to be able to play this game and to play it at a productive level.”
The game actually could have featured two different players reaching the 1,000-catch mark, as Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez entered the game with 994. But Gonzalez left the game with a calf injury just before halftime and is currently at 996.

four catches for 39 yards is a ‘productive level’??
Whenever I think of Owens, I am reminded of the ’98 wildcard game against Green Bay [Mike Holmgren's last game as Packer's coach].
Three huge drops left Owens sobbing on the sidelines. Then the game winning catch from Steve Young with no time left on the clock.
All in all, a great talent that was just way too inconsistent and emotionally unbalanced to put all of your eggs in his basket.
I realize some of Owens’ antics are for show to try and set himself up a media career after he retires. Most likely this sad soul will be forgotten not too long after his pass catching/dropping days are over.
Nice time to retire
… and nobody watched or cared.
it’s like he’s been sent to prison with plaxico… nobody notices or misses him.
Moss still has more TD’s with less years in the NFL. TO is a crying little bitch.
owens quits on passes can’t wait till he is out of buffalo
Miles Austin says ” Nice Game, Terrell”. And then when TO says ” Thanks”, Miles says, “I meant MY game,SGT Dropsy” and then he does that scary laugh of his.
It sure is fun to read PFT comments..
5 players have made more catches than this guy, only 2 has caught more TD’s, but yeah he’s a balldropping, inconsistent, non productive nobody…
Hey T.O., way to mail it in on that interception. Don’t strain yourself trying to make sure that ball doesn’t get, you know, caught by the defender in the end zone.
‘Cause that would be terrible.
Moss > T.O.
