Eagles send Jamal Jackson to injured reserve

As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles have sent center Jamal Jackson to injured reserve, due to a torn ACL suffered in Sunday’s win over the Broncos.

To take his place on the roster, the Eagles have promoted center Dallas Reynolds from the practice squad.  Safety Brandon Harrison has been signed to the practice squad in place of Reynolds.

At a time when plenty of Eagles’ offensive linemen have been injured, Jackson provided a high degree of consistency, starting every game since Week 10 of the 2005 season.

You know its bad that the only bright spot of the past 3 weeks for a Viking fan like myself is rooting for the Cowboys, Bucs, and Injuries on the Eagles… Sad as it is it does help our chances of securing that Bye.

Not Cool… you know very well that 50% of people viewing just the title are thinking that’s DeSean Jackson!! Sneaky Sneaky!!

ive never heard of dallas reynolds. nick cole is a true center and is going to get the go. i have no idea what you are talking about.

Yeah I hate missing Jackson he’s been a solid center ever since he took over for Hank Fraley. In fact I was pretty glad when they traded Fraley to the Browns as he just wasn’t a good center overall. He had the drive but not the physique to do it every down. I’m hoping Nick Cole can at least do a good job through the playoffs but I certainly expect more A gap blitzes.

Would it kill you to put first names or initials in the titles? Vernon Davis and DeSean Jackson, two of my favorite players (DeSean from his Cal days) are in a race for most touchdowns this season and I thought an injury was derailing that race. Davis leads the league with 12 and DeSean has 9 for anyone who was wondering.

Gmoney, If you are an eagles fan then there should have been no question who the article was referring to.

  7. robolundgren says: Dec 29, 2009 4:59 PM

The way the Cowboys defensive front has been playing and how their secondary shut DeSean Jackson down earlier, this game might be over before it starts.

Way to change it to the Full name other thank Jackson. Well played sir

  9. Braman_Audi says: Dec 29, 2009 5:02 PM

    @this class sucks:
    DeSean has 12 TD’s (9 rec, 1 run, 2 ret)
    @philthyphan:
Dallas Reynolds will be the backup center. Nick Cole becomes the starter.

Unless you’re not an Eagles fan, or if you are and have been living under a rock, you’re an idiot for thinking that just the last name ‘Jackson’ could have been Desean Jackson.
Jamaal Jackson tore his ACL as has been widely reported. Why would anyone think it was anybody but him??? Idiots.
And McCormack10, way to root for injuries — reallll classy….

Randy Moss leads the league with 13. Miles Austin has 11. In 10 starts.

BleedPhillyGreen… I know. Thats what I’m talking about. Normally I would not condone the cheering of another mans misfortune, but the way shit has been going with my circus of a team the last month Ill take whatever help we can get… besides if you’re a true Philly fan you can’t be all that unfamiliar with bad sportsmanship… isn’t that like genetically inherited in the city of Brotherly “Love”?
B.T.W. McNabb’s 3rd Down run was sick. I really don’t wanna play you guys again. Andy Reid will eat Beard Childress for dinner.

Thanks for writing that post before the game saying how consistent he has been. You certainly jinxed his playng streak.

I don’t see Dallas beating the Eagles in back to back consecutive games. So if Philly loses to Dallas the Boys better hope that Minnesota and Arizona lose on Sunday or they will have to face the Eagles again the following sunday… Best to just take your lumps this week and settle for a wild card spot instead of elimination!!!!!!!

so dallas finally ended their “december swoon”. it’s a shame for dallas that this game is in january, where they’ve been even worse.

6 Eagles make the pro bowl, but of course, McFlorio won’t post about it, cause it’s bigger news that the Ravens got 5 in the Pro Bowl..
    WTF?

  17. howiseeit says: Dec 29, 2009 7:26 PM

I am sure that the Cowboys are thinking the same thing as the Eagles are — NFC (B)East championship. Wildcard isn’t a thought.

  18. howiseeit says: Dec 29, 2009 7:28 PM

The Eagles offensive line has taken it hard this year with all of the injuries. Amazing that they are playing for the East title. Its not going to get any easier facing Ware and Ratliff.

  19. tombrookshire says: Dec 29, 2009 7:50 PM

He may have been consistent, but he was by no means a star. Just a middling center, undersized, nothing special.

  20. Big Smitty SCPO says: Dec 30, 2009 3:51 AM

the Birds have played the Boys 6 times after November in the Reid era and they are 5-1, the only loss being in Reid’s rookie year. ’02,’06, and ’07 those games have been in Dallas with the ’06 and ’07 teams being QBd by Romo.

    Nick Cole will be fine.
The O’ Line is pretty deep.
Dallas still can’t stop McNabb, and they sure can’t cover D.Jax…and Maclin, and Celek, and Avant, and S.McCoy, and Weaver, and a guy named Westbrook.
    Kind of sobering isn’t it??!!
    Huge Eagles win Sunday

that was too easy. let’s see if you can plug this one in though..
McNabb stand a chance against… D-Ware, Spencer, Ratliff, Jenkins, Newman, and Brooking… ;)
