With less than 90 minutes to go before the NFL pulls the sheet off this year’s Pro Bowl rosters, word is trickling out as to some of the potential participants.
We previously heard that Joe Thomas and Josh Cribbs of the Browns will make it. Per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, Vikings tackle Bryant McKinnie has disclosed, Twitter style, that he’ll be a starter in the game.
Of course, McKinnie shouldn’t want to be a starter in the game. If he is, it means that the Vikings won’t be playing in the game that follows the Pro Bowl by a week.

I love the Vikes but the way he got torched by Peppers I am very surprised… Lets just hope none of them play in the game at all.
After the past couple of weeks, McKinnie shouldn’t be a starter in a Pop Warner games!!
Did he get Favre’s ok to go?
Fraud.
As a Vikings fan, I’m ashamed that he was even considered for the Pro Bowl. My apologies to the more deserving LT’s in the league.
What a joke..he gets beat like a drum all the time!!!!
As a Vikings fan, I can honestly say that McKinnie does not deserve to be in the Pro Bowl.
Seriously? He’s lucky Julius Peppers won’t be going up against him that day. I mean Flozell Adams could not have been far behind.
McKinnie knows how to Twitter??
I hope he can shake off the rust from not playing for a month, watching the Pack advance thru the playoffs
I am a “die-hard Vikings fan”*, and I must say that Bryant McKinnie belongs in the Pro Bowl as much as Brad Childress belongs in the HoF or Zygmunt deserves Executive of the Year.
He gets beat by fast DEs and bull-rushers alike, and reminds me of the fat kid in gym class that is pretending to do situps only because people may be watching.
*Cursed to watch a team go through owner after owner, coach after coach, player after player, and witness the same result.
Mt. McKinnie is not Pro Bowl material….
@McCormack10
So because a guy has one bad game, that all of the sudden makes them less of a candidate for the Pro Bowl? When did the stat of “perfection” suddenly become the defining factor in making a Pro Bowl selection? Because if that is the case, then we won’t be having a Pro Bowl this year, sorry.
Btw, in before chants of “good, because the Vikings will need something to do, since they won’t be in the super bowl”.
This year, who cares about the Pro Bowl?
I’m trying to think of standout left tackles in the NFC, but none come to mind.
If it hasnt been released then how do people already know? I can’t stand it when sthis stuff happens!
McKinnie is grossly overrated. Maybe he can get another “Love Boat” party going down in Miami during Pro Bowl week.
Shut up, all you anti-McKinnie people. He had a great game yesterday. OK. He got owned by Julius Peppers. Well, he still deserves to make the Pro Bowl.
No, he really stunk this year. I watched a lot of Viking’s football this year to see how Favre would do and another reason A.P. stats were down this year was because of the line. I’m all for fan voting, but people gotta be a little better informed.
Bottom line is the best players should make the pro-bowl. It shouldn’t be a popularity contest.

Ted Thompson got Executive of the Year, and Zygi’s been far better than him so far.. Don’t be so sure.
Leatherneck, take off the Vikings homer goggles.
For all of you Viking fans that are apologizing for McKinnie’s appearance…just remember you were 1/3 responsible for his inclusion. Don’t vote for him if he didn’t deserve to be there. I don’t care if he has sucked the past few weeks and fan voting ended a couple weeks ago…he still wasn’t deserving even through the first half of the season. Loadholt is better.
Pro-Bowlers don’t get benched because of bad play, except for McKinnie.
That’s funny. He’s all excited to play in the pro bowl. A week before the Super Bowl. Kinda let’s us know what he thinks of his chances of the Dykes making it past the first round. NICE GAME LAST NIGHT!!! A bunch of fags in yellow wigs!!!
I guess it is a weak year for NFC tackles.
He may get beat like a drum this Sunday against D.Ware but even an injured Peters is superior to that turd McKinnie.
Sure he got posterized by Dumerville(sp?) this past week, but who doesn’t. Dumerville would’ve had 12 sacks on Favre if he was going up against Bloat Mckinnie.
It’s good to see that the Pro-Bowl is not being played in Hawaii this year….next year they should fix the voting so voter fraud like this doesn’t happen again.
McKinnie over Orlando Pace? I couldnt tell the difference recently
Better pick some TE’s and FB’s that can help out if this guy is starting.
He doesn’t even deserve to sit in the stands at the Pro Bowl, and this is from a Viking fan.
Only reason he has made it is because of his name. Not fair. I could think of someone better than him. Jason Peters
McKinnie’s last few games haven’t been indicative of how he’s played all season, for which the honor is given. He’s actually played quite well for all you knuckleheads who judge a player based on who he plays for rather than the quality of his play. Now I don’t know if he’s played Pro Bowl quality, but for all of you who state he shouldn’t be there, name me a LT who you know should be there instead. Please don’t be ignorant enough to mention Peters from the Eagles who is vastly overrated. The stud tackles from this past decade are injured or declining and the top guys now are more good than great.
I’m sure McKinnie’s message was expressing his excitement over being named a starter not that he was going to start in the game. Then again seeing that the game is being played for the first time before the Super Bowl maybe he just forgot. Or he realizes the way the Vikes are playing a deep playoff run isn’t very likely.
…and Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. Big M has been on a rough stretch but remember that fan voting is only 1/3. He has to be getting some respect amongst his peers. He has had some great games this year.
I love the vikings, but (as all parents know and most non-parents) when your kids act bad, you gotta punish them. No Vikings should be allowed to be part of the team after the way they have played the majority of the last month (with the execption of the CIN game).
By the way, McKinnie already said it.
“Hopefully i don’t have 2 play because we will be in the super bowl.”

I think the criticism is a little harsh. The coaching staff is clueless. You don’t go one on one against Julius Peppers or Steve Smith.
Jared Allen has been held in check the past three weeks. How? Double and triple teams with runningbacks and tight-ends helping to block him. That’s the way you’re supposed to block a marquee defensive end.
You don’t sit there and watch your tackles be abused without adjusting the blocking scheme. You don’t sit there and watch Steve Smith, Randy Moss, etc. torch one on one coverage.
The single most glaring deficiency in the Viking o-line is Mckinnie’s play as of late. I thought he got out of his funk in the Cincy game but, mentally he’s let the media and pundits get in his head big time. And now he’s getting beat up. By waaay lesser players. This includes Peppers. What goes on between an o-linemens ears is crucial to his play.
I think he takes the penalty. That’s right. Run the risk and take the penalty. It’s better than a demoralizing momentum changing sack. Make a conscious effort to play on instinct rather than worrying about getting flagged for a penalty that may not come to fruition. This is not unlike a d-back getting beat and wrestling with a receiver to assist his recovery. Sometimes you get called , sometimes you don’t. Obviously, this isn’t a technique that should be endorsed as a long term solution. It’s not a solution. But if used on a very temporary basis could help Mckinnie get back to form and he can maul these guys like he’s been doing for most of the year.
He’s thinking way too much.
Hey percy harvin,
You must be from the bottom of the gene pool. Let me guess your 40 years old, fat, bald, single & live with your loser parents? Am I spot on?Not even 16 year olds talk as much trash as you.
sadly enough there are a lot of people like you out their. Don’t feel bad.
Keep your comments to yourself you mental midget.
Farves sweet Hair- posting the same shit on various threads gives us all the pointer to who is genetically challenged……it is you rabbit dick!
Do rabbits have weiners?
And by the way, whats wrong with Favres hair?
Maybe this is some master plan by the Vikings to get Aaron Rodgers killed during the Pro Bowl. Definatley did not deserve to go, I think Jeremey Broshourd(New Orleans) played better, and so did Sam Baker(Atlanta) and Jeremey Trueblood(Tampa Bay). But whatever, the dude sucks have fun against Clay Mathews for the rematch, or DeMarcus Ware, or Trent Cole… it looks ugly in the play-offs for the Purple Penis Eaters.
Pervy… maybe all the jabber jawing is the source of your migraines. Shut the hell up for a while and see what happens. Then again, they could be from the last backhand across the upper lip I gave you. No matter… you only have 2 games left anyhow. SKOL.
Chuck…wake up! You are dreaming again!!! Packers will lose first game, want to bet?
Pack will lose first game huh? Just like the Vikes would destroy the Bears… Your useless bantor holds no weight in this forum. Maybe focus on preaching to your school yard buddies. Get some practice and then come see me son. Tell your mom I said hello and the to-go sandwiches were delish.
Happy New Year.
Havent liked McKinnie since he was a rookie and he held out for more money. Very overpaid and major let down. He couldn’t block Mitch Berger.
