Chargers avoid blackout

For the 47th straight home game, the Chargers will be televised locally.

The team sold the remaining tickets necessary to avoid a blackout.

Chargers owner Dean Spanos thanked the fans in a statement Friday.

As a reward, fans attending the game will likely be rewarded with a heavy dose of Billy Volek and Michael Bennett instead of league MVP candidate Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson.

A 12-3 team have to thank the fans for avoiding a blackout. You would think the Chargers were 3-12 and they had to plead the fans to buy tickets.

    ….”avoid blackout”…
Because once again… The other teams fans save the day…..
    A fan base of….like..um…30?..Too much?.
Save you crying for on the field….
    You know….The usual…
Win/choke and do NOTHING with your talent.
    EVER.

Since my Redskins are coming to town, can you blame the fans for that? That being said, I agree that a team that could go all the way has had to beg and plead with local fans to get tickets sold. I do also think that the economy has hit that area pretty hard, so that is understandable.
The NFL is going have a problem going forward and that is the HD experience really trumps going to the game. You don’t have to pay an absurd amount to go watch and you have all the beverage and food that you pay for at a reasonable rate, plus no traffic!

Do you mean “avoid a blackout”?

I probably sure Redskins fans bought the last couple of tickets. Chargers owner should be thanking them.

Yeah, the Chargers are the real chokers of the AFC, unlike the Colts, who have been to the playoffs every year for the past decade with the QB of the decade in Payton Manning under center and they have ONE SB RING IN TEN OPPORTUNITES. He was 100% healthy entering ten playoffs and he has one win.
But mock the Chargers. It feels better to mock a winner. Who’s your team? Shittsburgh? Patsies? LMFAO retard. In a league of “what have you done for me today” your team hasn’t done shit.

Damn…How is this Possible? This team has been on a roll for weeks..Probably the last team any AFC playoff contender wants to face..Have a future HOF ‘er at RB, one of the best young QB’s in the league, and they had to “avoid” a blackout? Hell, theyre’ 12-3……Did a corporation have to bail them out by buying blocks of tickets?

Ummm…didn’t “Shittsburgh” kick the living hell out of San Diego in the playoffs last year? If it’s a league of “what have you done for me today,” they’d give out big silver trophies for the Chargers dominance over the worst division in football. They don’t.
Win something, like the Steelers and the “Patsies” have done (you know full-well, San Diego has been on the losing end of playoff games against both those teams), then you can start popping off, ok son? Thanks!

I can only imagine if this was the Bengals, what the comments would be. Truth be told, they will have problems selling out playoff games, just like last year when the Colts came to town. The Bengals only have single seats left for any possible 2010 playoff game ib Cincinnati. Can San Diego and Minnesota say the same right now?

Funny how you mock three teams who have all wonder SBs, and yet the Chargers have won how many?
    still waiting for that total…………
Oh, that’s right, that would be ZERO!!
    HA HA LOSER

  14. Empire Jones says: Jan 1, 2010 8:52 PM

Hahahahahaha. All I was doing was defending our team against the “choker” comeback which is al you have on San Diego. until the end of the season that is.
San Diego will win the Super Bowl and all of you will have nothing.
No wait, you will. It will be the “We have ‘x’ number of rings, and the Chargers only have one”.
I, for one, can’t wait for you bitches.

The Chargers are the BEST – Regular Season – team!! XD LOL
The Chargers are so overrated it’s sickening! Every year BSPN has the Chargers to make the Super Bowl and win it, but they start off like sh*t and finish up strong and make the post season. Then once in the post season they lose. Last year was their best progression in the post season, but still can’t find a way to make it to the big show. With all those weapons, there should be no reason why they can’t be successful. It shows you that they aren’t the elite of the ELITE!!
So go ahead Dolt fans, enjoy it while you can because when the Chargers lose in the post season you will be right back home watching with the rest of the league and still having ZERO Super Bowl wins to your name!!!

    Simply disgraceful Charger fans.

  19. Mister Pleasant says: Jan 1, 2010 11:15 PM

Oh man not this crap again.
“Chargers fans suk cuz they can’t sellout lol”. Yet they still sell out every home game. I bet none of you saw the fans single-handedly kill a Bengals drive 2 weeks ago. San Diego is one of the most expensive cities to live in America and with the economy the way it is, most people here (the people that could afford those tickets) are cutting back their spending by a ton.
And don’t give us crap about not winning a championship. The Chargers have consistently been among the youngest teams in the league with a still-figuring-things-out coach. It’s only now that that the young guys are catching up to the veterans in playoff experience. Besides, only 1 team wins it all every year, with 3 or 4 good playoffs teams “choking” their way out.

chargers fans are the worst? 47 straight sell outs! i hear about this every week! get a real story! oh yeah! go bolts!
