Cowboys-Eagles rematch will be on next Saturday night

NBC got the Eagles-Cowboys game, just a week later than expected.

And this one will mean a lot more.

In a move that runs contrary to many reports we’ve seen, the NFL announced that the Cowboys and Eagles will face off in Dallas next Saturday night at 8 ET on NBC.   The Jets or Texans (okay, the Jets) will face the Bengals at 4:30 on Saturday to kick off Wild Card Saturday on NBC.

PFT will have you covered all day, with a surprise or two thrown in.

On Sunday the Ravens-Patriots will play at 1ET on CBS, while the Packers-Cardinals will be at 4:40 ET on Fox.

The Jets got a bad break after two straight weeks of great luck.  They have to turn around and play the first game on the road next week after playing the last game of the regular season.

What you guys going to do, post some worthwhile and insightful comments?
Or offer cool prizes for the most snide remarks of the day?

Once again, Jerry Jones and the NFC East rule the world.
They MUST have that NFC East game in prime time!

what was the good break the Jets got this week, Rosey? that they played an inferior team? Carson Palmer didn’t exactly look like he was replicating his Heisman-winning season when he was in. and the game was well over before O’Sullivan, Jordan Palmer and Ken Anderson came in in relief. but no, let’s not give the league’s #1 D any credit whatsoever. it’s the PFT way

Nobody else gets to play in primetime if the Cowboys are in the playoffs. That’s just perfect.
Gee, I wonder if the NFL will “pick” Cowboys vs. Favre for the primetime game next week too?

The Cowboys do not play in Dallas, they play in Arlington.

If you’re implying that the Jets D is the reason they’re in the playoffs, you must have recently escaped from an asylum. Had it not been for the Colts, the Jets would have never backed in and while I may agree with your remarks of …”the PFT way”, I actually have to side with them on this. Heck, the Jets HC even knows they are lucky to be in but the Jets will no doubt get a dose of reality soon enough when they are 1 & done.

    @ Abe71
They won’t be 1 & done against the Bengles. The starters looked completely lost down 27-0. Do you watch football?
    Try the diet crack please.

    Winners next week:
    Bengals
    Ravens
    Eagles
    Cardinals
    Simple.

Would have been more difficult to ask the Ravens to play Saturday after flying home from the west coast than to ask the Jets to play Saturday after a home game (regardless of the start time). I am sure the NFL’s plan is based on the tv ratings but this seems like the most fair solution.

Careful Abe. Those Cheat’s fans are super sensitive. You can get censored for remarks against their volatile, whiny fan base.
Somebody get out a broom. The Cowboys just SWEPT The Eag’s (regular season disclaimer).
Well, well, well. Where are all The TurdBird fans ? The Cowboys put a BLANKIN (shutout) SPANKIN on the Eagles.
Where are all the “the Cowboys will not be a factor in the NFC East” chanters ?
Where are all the “let’s not crown The Eagles Champs quite yet(quite yet? How ’bout AT ALL)” idiots now ?
    Cowboys rule The Eag’s.
Vox, would you PLEASE chime on in here?

The Cowboys beat us, straight up. We played like crap and the Cowboys made plays.
Those two first round picks we have next uear better go towards fixing the D. And I’m tired of watching Samuel try to jump every route when he is not blowing tackles.
The game was over when Reid decided to kick that field goal.

Speaking of draft picks, remember when the Eagirls traded with the Cowboys so they could move back into the first round and draft Anthony Spencer? Yeah he had two sacks yesterday. Seven in the second half of the season. The Eagirls got Kolb, Stewart Bradley and CJ Gaddis (who?) out of the deal.

Wow – the NFL breaks its scheduling tradition.
Since the NFL went to six playoff teams per conference each year’s Wild Card and Divisional rounds followed one of the following formats in terms of the order of the four weekend games:
    AFC-NFC-NFC-AFC; or
    NFC-AFC-AFC-NFC
meaning that there was one AFC and NFC game on each of the Saturday and Sunday of the two weekends. And until this season – each conference had one early game and one late game – i.e. if the AFC had the 4:30 (early) Sat start – it also had the 4:00 (late) Sun start and the NFC had the (late) 8:00 Sat start and (early) 1 pm Sun start. Or vice versa.
This year’s Wild Card Round goes:
AFC-NFC-AFC-NFC – meaning the NFC will have both “late” games and the AFC will have both “early” games. It appears to have been done in order to get Philly-Dal in primetime Sat night. Since Arizona could not host a 1 p.m. Sun game – the Packers-Cardinals game was scheduled at 4 pm Sun and the AFC games were slotted in thereafter.
The other option would have had the Ravens-Pats game on Sat night and the Eagles-Cowboys game could have been the late Sunday game. I suppose the argument would be that the Ravens would have been punished by having to fly back from Oakland and then playing a Sat night game?
But it seems to me the overriding reason is to get Eagles-Cowboys in prime time – with the NFL breaking from its scheduling tradition.

We’re all here, asshat. And some of us are willingly admitting that we got our asses handed to us yesterday.
The difference between us and you/Voxie?
We don’t disappear after a bad loss, like you did last year.
It’s the difference between “being a man” and “being a pussy”.
You and Vox? Big stinking vaginas where your balls should be.
But keep laughing it up. Maybe your football team wins it all – they’re hot. You’ll still never be a real man, a pussy never changes it’s pink.

You don’t disappear? maybe YOU don’t, but the rest of your e-gal freak fans who liked to sign their posts with 44-6 are certainly gone. Haven’t seen one of those since Sunday.
