49ers-Rams one-liners

DE Justin Smith posted 3.5 sacks and eight tackles to help lead the 49ers to a 28-6 in the season finale.

49ers TE Vernon Davis’s 73-yard touchdown catch was his 13th of the season, good for a share of the NFL record for touchdowns by a tight end in one season.

WR Isaac Bruce started for the 49ers, played one snap and then exited what might be his final NFL game.

49ers RB Frank Gore ran for 107 yards and scored twice to give him a career-best 10 touchdowns on the year.

The 49ers allowed only 109 yards in total offense, their lowest total since the 2000 season.

Rams RB Steven Jackson and QB Kyle Boller had words after Jackson was stuffed for a five-yard loss in the fourth quarter.

The Rams gained only 37 yards from scrimmage on 29 plays in the second half.

Said Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo, “The bottom line is we lost the football game. The season is over. We
were hoping to finish on a high note, but we weren’t able to do that.”

Starting Rams QB Keith Null left the game after taking a hit from Smith in the third quarter.

The Rams paid tribute to Bruce during the fourth quarter of the game.
