Bills continue to build interview list

The Bills have talked to many big names in the coaching field, but they will also include some lesser known assistants in their coaching search.

Jay Glazer reports the Bills are making plans to interview Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, Cardinals
assistant head coach Russ Grimm and Vikings defensive coordinator
Leslie Frazier.

Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera have also been mentioned as possibilities.   Brian Billick is reportedly staffing up in case he gets the Bills job.

Buffalo’s entire coaching staff is expected to be replaced.

If Billick brings in an OC that has proven he can develop a QB, I would have no problem with him leading the Bills.

    Hopefully, Frazier gets the job.

As few and rare as NFL head coaching opportunities are, Buffalo needs a healthy list just to find someone qualified who will accept the job – not because Buffalo is a small city in a cold climate, but because its nowhere near the franchise it used to be.

Nobody wants this job. After all, if you take it, you will be working in Toronto full time within 24 months. And nobody wants to pay their ridiculous tax rates just to stand in line for multiple hours at the doctor’s office. What a horrible country.

Russ Grimm is the best man for that job .

i hope andy blocks them from interviewing sean mcdermott. i’m really not trying to see us lose jim johnson’s defensive scheme any time soon

Leslie Frazier would be a very good choice.

The Bills should wait for Lovie Smith.

    Big names are irrelevant.
The key question is: Did they comply with the Rooney Rule?

I hope Billick gets the job, I live right by the stadium and can’t waite to blast that double talking MF’er with a Snowball.

SATAN567 – You are on crack if you think the Bills are moving to Toronto. They can’t even support a CFL team. Nobody has the $$ to spend the $200.oo per ticket those idiots were charging to see a game. They aren’t moving anywhere because there is nowhere else that is financially capable of supporting a team any better than Buffalo.

Ralph, if you have any brain cells left in that head of yours you’ll sign Russ Grimm.

How did that defensive scheme work out yesterday?

Frazier? I’m not so sure about the guy after the last month or so. He almost seems like the token Rooney-rule interviewee.

    Billick is coming to Buffaronto

  18. bigrig says: Jan 4, 2010 6:34 PM

Honk if the Buffalo Bills have interviewed you for their HC job.
Will the Bills be the first team in NFL history to play w/o a HC?

  19. stnmmc says: Jan 4, 2010 6:35 PM

I’d love to see Russ Grimm get a look there. He has been to two Super Bowls as Asst HC i the last 4 years, and depending on how it shakes out this year possibly 3 in 5.

I heard the Bill’s are considering the local Walmart greeter for the coaching job. He fits their criteria: he’s used to low pay.

All I know is Bills need to fully commit it to Billick in terms of support just like what he got from Ozzie Newsome and Ravens.
In an egg and sausage breakfast, chicken is involved but the pig is committed. Be the pig, Buddy/Ralph!!
