DeSean Jackson on Cowboys: "We gonna sting they ass"

Philadelphia’s 24-0 loss on Sunday wasn’t quite as embarrassing as 44-6 was for the Cowboys in 2008, but it was pretty close.

The difference: The Eagles get a chance for instant redemption in the playoffs.  Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, for one, will be ready.   Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed Monday that Jackson tweaked his groin, but it was nothing serious.

Jackson is also getting mentally prepared.  He took Twitter Sunday night after the loss:

Got smashed by them cowboys 2daaaaaay sheeeeesh its all good we gonna sting they ass next week lil buddy,” Jackson wrote.

The 2010 NFL Playoffs: Sting they ass!

    Talk is cheap.
AND furthermore, I’d say they (The Eagles) need to do something like that. They got SHUT OUT ! I believe it was Rosenthal that said, “Let’s not give them (The Eagles) the title yet.” That was last week. Now look.
The Dallas Cowboys are NFC EAST Champs for the 2nd time in 3 years. Deal with it.

  2. NFLisBeginning2ReallySUCK says: Jan 4, 2010 12:43 PM

DJ needs to let his playing on the field do the talking … 3 catches and a bunch of dropped receptions in a shutout loss is being held over his head.
Time to put-up or shut-up … let’s see if the NFL ALL-PRO was really deserved …

  3. gallaghedj311 says: Jan 4, 2010 12:43 PM

Wade Phillips will be fired after next week. Rest assured. I think I said I wanted the Eagles to lose this week. Just so we can eliminate them from the playoffs next week.

  4. KingJoe! says: Jan 4, 2010 12:43 PM

Ok DJ, you keep talking because if you dont win, all of Philly will blame you. Put up or shut DJ!
    I hates them Cowboys!

  5. NFL_1974 says: Jan 4, 2010 12:44 PM

StephenJonesPlease…. Two words for you, TONY ROMO…. which translates into CHOKE ARTIST for you moronic cowboy fans.

  6. Rickah99 says: Jan 4, 2010 12:45 PM

Well, this could easily be the “make or break” moment in the early career of D-Jax!
Hats off to Dallas, they really put it together got a big win when it counted.
As a dihard Philly fan, I find it hard to believe the Eagles can come back after this. The same culprits are to blame here:
**Poor clock management! The Punter burns a timeout during a punt to avoid a penalty….Really??
**Stupid penalties…If our O-line wasn’t so banged up I would love to see J.Peters benched for such a dumb play.
**Tackling: ASANTE SAMUEL YOU MAY WANT TO TAKE NOTE!!!
**Injuries: Both the O-Line and LB’s have been decimated, it’s amazing they went 11-5.
I suspect it will be a better game, butDallas wins 27-20!

  7. NFL_1974 says: Jan 4, 2010 12:46 PM

The problem is Hap, and I know you may not understand this as a tool, but NFC champ hasnt translated into ANYTHING for the Cowboys. So DEAL WITH THAT Clap, I mean Hap.

Does Desean have at least a High School education?
    thinking not.
I was really surprised mcnabb didn’t run onto the field to belly flop romo as he was injured on the ground.
I hate both of these teams and per McNabb I am really worried next weeks game will end in a Tie.

  10. KingKunal says: Jan 4, 2010 12:49 PM

I think the Eagles win. (I don’t support or hate either team)
These things seem to always go around this way. But it is impressive how Romo has turned around his previous December performances.

Ebonics is “illiterate speak” plain and simple, swapping the use of plural tense is not a language, is is a manifestation of pure stupidity and ignorance.

    Keep talking DJ…
Meanwhile, you’ll end up on a long flight, again next Saturday Night after losing, again, in Dallas.
    See a trend here?
    Never forget 24-0

  14. leatherneck says: Jan 4, 2010 12:52 PM

DeSean Jackson attended the University of California, which teaches that “We gonna sting they ass” is proper English.
The University of California is a pretty shabby institution. They should probably shut it down.

  15. Chris Fiorentino says: Jan 4, 2010 12:58 PM

The Beagles are the luckiest damn team of all time…and they still haven’t won a Super Bowl. Seems they get handed breaks every week, i.e. Jacobs “fumbling” the ball right to Sheldon Brown to put them up 14-0 in New York, Matt Ryan out of the game in Atlanta and weak-armed Redmen throwing up the pussiest passes in league history, and now this year. The Eagles get THRASHED by Dallas and instead of having to go home ashamed and embarrassed, they luckily get another chance this week. They will probably win this week because, as I said before, they are the luckiest team of all time.
But as in previous years, that luck will never get them a Super Bowl title. For that, they need a coach who knows how to manage the clock and a QB who doesn’t throw up when the going gets tough. No amount of luck will ever help Reid or McNabb win a Super Bowl.

  16. gunboat says: Jan 4, 2010 12:59 PM

  17. loggerhead12 says: Jan 4, 2010 1:04 PM

Isn’t this the same guy that spiked the ball at the 1-year-line last year? He doesn’t seem very smart. Talk is cheap, and he’s 0 for 2 this year against the Dallas secondary.

I vaguely remember the last time the Cowgirls swept a team in the regular season and then played them again in the playoffs. Who was it? Giants? Ah, yes. Pretty much annihilated the Giants during both games and then lost ever so sadly in the playoffs at HOME. So here’s to it happening again, this time with Philly.

  21. Dawkphan says: Jan 4, 2010 1:18 PM

DeSean, Show us ON the field not on Twitter.
I would love nothing more than you Lighting them up next week . But until that time develop a game plan and execute it. The cowboys are not Unbeatable but if the Eagles play again like they did last night, We don’t stand a chance.
I have faith that we will straighten it out. Now lets get down to business!
    GO BIRDS !!!

  22. pdub1970 says: Jan 4, 2010 1:18 PM

I just want to give a big THANK YOU to the Cowboys for giving my Vikings a 1st round bye. We went to the game, watch the vikes flat out destroy the Giants, yelled at Childress to bench Farve, raced home and rooted for the Cowboys…it was a good day.
I could care less what happens next week, I did predict the Cowboys would lose…show’s what I know:)

Yeah. And they went on to win the Super Bowl. Flash: The Eagirls are NOT the Giants and no matter what happens Saturday, they’re not going to win the Super Bowl.
I’m glad that instead of studying his playbook or resting, T.Rex was tweetering or twattering or whatever you call it. I’m also happy to hear that loser Sean McDermott implying that the Eagirls played vanilla D because they didn’t want to tip the Cowboys off to the fact that they like to blitz.

  34. redsquare says: Jan 4, 2010 1:37 PM

So, I guess that means the two games this season where the Cowboys completely dominated the Eagles in every aspect of the game were just one big fake-out? Losing the first-round bye and division title was just a setup for the sucker punch?
Can’t fault Jackson for pumping himself up for the big game. Can fault him for being an obnoxious jerk in a low-class organization.
The Eagles are capable of winning next week. But nothing in their actual performance this year suggests they will.

  39. redsquare says: Jan 4, 2010 1:51 PM

@NFL_1974 – while you make an accurate point, making it in defense of the Eagles is less appropriate. After all, the Eagles have squandered their chances in multiple NFC championships and what should have been a winnable Super Bowl (T.O. almost carried the whole load himself–great, gutsy performance), basically taking up space that other NFC teams probably could have made better use of.
Some think that getting that far nearly every year indicates success. But what’s the point, if they keep squandering their success and end each season empty-handed?
Eagles = best bridesmaids of the decade. But no ring.

I love all of these Eagles fans running their mouths about Romo Choking when McNabb holds the record for the most chokes in the history of the game. Romo is the hottest QB in the NFC right now along with Aaron Rogers. Green Bay and Dallas are the 2 best teams in the NFC and the Vikings and old man river will find out when they play some actual competition. The Saints have been terrible and the Vikings lost to the Bears.

Mike Jenkins has that old Kevin Smith cockiness that was lacking from the Dallas secondary. And more importantly he backs it up. He talked a bit of trash before the game. Then he talked trash throughout the game and he’s clearly gotten under the skin of this English Lit scholar.
Jenkins is quickly becoming a star on that defense.
Newman on the other hand got paid, doesn’t tackle and is fragile like fine China.

    Just play the game DeSean.
You sound like a poor man’s Mike Tyson.
And,secondly, there are idiots on here stupid enough to say they hope for a Cowboys win because then the Vikings get to play the Cowboys. Might not be a great thing to wish for.
You all just came running out of the closet again after a win vs a team that just played without caring. Dallas will be all over Favre if they play. Peterson will have no place to run. The secondary won’t be able to do anything against the recievers of Dallas. And Romo won’t get touched through that O-line.
Get ready for your wish to come true. Just might not have the ending you hoped for. Vikings in the 2010 playoffs are going to be one and done if they can’t get it together. And the last game doesn’t count against that uninspired Giants team. Careful what you wish for.

  50. katdawg215 says: Jan 4, 2010 2:56 PM

the eagles lost that game on purpose….you dont want to take the bye week cause then everyone is rusty and you know you made the playoffs so thats a lock…and they didn’t wanna go out there and show the cowgirls what there intentions were for the playoffs…everyone who thinks they got blown out is retarded!!!….watch eagles going to the 2nd round with ease!!!!

  51. delius1967 says: Jan 4, 2010 2:57 PM

“It is extremely difficult to be a team 3 times in one season. I think Philly will win this. ”
That’s an urban legend, and a thoroughly debunked one. Teams up 2-0 on a divisional opponent are 12-7 against the same team in the playoffs over the last 40 years or so.
Those calling Romo a choke artist, get a grip. He’s played a grand total of two playoff games, one of which they lost on a fluke, and one they lost to the eventual SB champion. He is only in his third full season as a starter. Is Drew Brees a choker? He didn’t win playoff game until his fifth season as a starter. How about (Peyton) Manning? No playoff wins until his SIXTH season as a starter.
I was very surprised by the outcome of this game. If the Eagles have any pride, and I think they do, Saturday will be much more competitive. Still, everything is pointing against Philly right now. They still haven’t beaten a playoff team this year. Not only is it a short week, but they have to travel twice during it. Plus, the injury situation on their OL isn’t getting any better. And DeSean Jackson seems to be be in a bit of denial.
    31-17 Cowboys

The Eagles are the most overrated team in the playoffs this year. They are the ONLY team of the twelve teams in the playoffs to not have a win against ANY of the other playoff teams. Of the remaining playoff teams, they all have multiple wins against playoff teams with the exception of Baltimore and Arizona who only have one victory each against playoff teams. The only team the Eagles defeated this year with an above .500 record is the Falcons who finished the season at 9-7.
Eagles of 2009 versus playoff teams:
    Lost to Saints: 48-22
    Lost to Dallas: 20-16
    Lost to San Diego: 31-23
    Lost to Dallas: 24-0
Other NFC playoff teams total victories versus playoff teams:
    Arizona: 1
    Green Bay: 2
    Dallas: 3
    Saints: 3
    Minnesota: 4

Sorry, overkil2, another failed point. Show me how the teams from 12 years ago affect this one, and I’ll buy this. Heck, show me how the teams from 3 years ago affect this one, and I’ll buy it. But the fact is, not even LAST YEAR’S team affects this one. I’d almost venture to say that not even September’s versions of these teams affect the ones on the field right now (i.e. where are the Giants and Broncos?).
Look, if you want to give reasons why the Eagles are going to win, go right ahead. It’s certainly not out of the question; the Eagles have a lot of talent, and have shown themselves to be resilient. But these absurd historical statistics don’t help make your point. The Cowboys’ playoff record of the last 13 years doesn’t matter any more than certain other facts, like the Cowboys winning five SBs to the Eagles’ none, or the Cowboys having a 2-1 record against the Eagles all-time in the playoffs. (It’s weird that they’ve only ever faced off three times in the playoffs, by the way.)
Hey, the Cowboys are on a two-game playoff winning streak against the Eagles! Philly doesn’t stand a chance! Except those games were 14 and 17 years ago, and except for Jerry Jones, there probably isn’t a single person remaining in either organization from that time.
The past is the past. Let it go. The only thing that matters for Saturday is the two teams that will take the field. Right now, it’s difficult to think of what Philly is going to do differently enough to win just six days (and two long plane rides) after being dominated.
Even if we discount the big mistakes, the fumble, the overthrow to Jackson, and the missed field goal, they still lose 24-17. And that’s the BEST case scenario. The Cowboys had just as many mistakes, remember, the fluky interception on a deflection, and a much shorter FG miss.

As a Vikings fan I’m pulling for the Packers next weekend. It’s a matchup thing. The Vikings definitely do not match up well with the Cardinals at some key positions. We saw that in spades a few weeks ago. A 3rd Packers-Vikings contest would be a war for sure, but might be the game of the year. As for the Cowboys and Eagles, the Pokes wouldn’t get past the Vikings and the Saints are going to KILL whoever goes into New Orleans in that second round. This one will come down to Vikings-Saints in NO, with the remote possibility of a Packers-Saints matchup.

Oddly, it does seem plausible that the freaking bush league Eagirls and their retarded fans would see that as a valid strategy. Don’t win too many games, wouldn’t want to get a bye and home field advantage (even though they’re just 3-3 on the road this season)!

Desean Jackson can be one of the most explosive players in the NFL, but his maturity level sucks. It’s like he doesn’t know how to act. I don’t respect players who act immature like he does. Remember the playoff game between Philly and Minnesota last year when Desean taunted Brad Childress. Who does that?! I think some of the philly veteran players need to check this little street punk in the locker room.

First, can someone translate Jackson’s statement into English. Secondly, when the Eagles brought in the side show freak Vick, I gave away my tickets and began hoping they lose. When they kick Vick to the curb where he belongs, until he gets himself back into prison, where he REALLY belongs, I will be for the team they are playing against – regardless of what team that may be. It could be Satan’s minions, and I would still cheer for them over the Eagles while freak-boy Vick is wearing Eagle gear. McNabb is a top QB, he was all we needed, and yet they ruined the chemistry of the team by bringing in Vick-the-Freak. Disgusting.

The Eagles are nobody’s dummies. They lost, so they have to play 3 games in warm weather or indoors to get the Super Bowl. As opposed to maybe two games outdoors in Philly during January. Romo, el Choke-o, will be playing in a playoff game this week, loser goes home. Against the Eagles, it was lose goes to the playoffs, not really a big game. I’ll bet in the rematch it comes down to a PAT or FG for the ‘boys to win. And who is the holder? Oops!

Ebonics is “illiterate speak” plain and simple, swapping the use of plural tense is not a language, is is a manifestation of pure stupidity and ignorance.
    ————————————————
Actually, and you and everyone might laugh at this, but that form of speech is known as African American English, and it is a recognized dialect in the United States. No, it’s not the “Queen’s English,” but linguistics professors with Ph.Ds treat it as an acceptable way of speaking.
Just because a bunch of educated people with Ph.Ds treat it as an acceptable way of speaking doesn’t make it right.

What was his degree in and what courses did he take? I can only imagine. Perhaps the recent comment about the NFL being dominated by a bunch of thugs is absolutely accurate. I stopped paying attention to the NFL after the ridiculous Iggy Shuffle! It has only gotten worse since then with the “in your face” antics, the jumping up and down after every play and the moronic dances performed by the players after a score! Get a real job!!

For all those who claim that Ebonics isn’t a legitimate dialect of English: know what you are talking about. First of all, what on earth is a “plural tense”? It’s easy to just throw out words to sound intellectually superior.
If Ebonics weren’t a legitimate dialect, then when and when not forms of “be” can be omitted would be totally random, right? This is not the case. In fact, it is extremely codified. Here is when it can’t be omitted:
    1) When it’s stressed by the speaker.
    2) When it’s at the end of a phrase (because it’s stressed then).
    3) When it’s being used in a tense which doesn’t exist in Standard English known as the remote present. So the been in “She been married” is never omitted, and contrasts with “She [is] married”, in that the former means “She is married and has been for some considerable time.”
    4) When it’s negated, as in “I ain’t no fool.” The “ain’t” will never be omitted.
    5) When it’s serving as an infinitive.
    6) When it’s marking habituality, as in “He be singin'”, again, contrasted with “He [is] singin’.'”
    7) When it’s in the past tense.
    8) When it’s first person singular.
    9) When it begins a clause.
This omission is just one example of the completely rule-governed system that is Ebonics. Another example of a common sticking point: Double negation is completely normal in many languages, and used to be so in Standard English. “I ain’t no fool” is entirely grammatical in Ebonics; that’s just how it works. Compare Czech “Nikdo vidÄ›l nikoho nikde”, “Nobody saw anybody anywhere”. The ni- is a negative prefix; it appears three times to mark the one (semantic) negation.

    ——————————————————
I have absolutely NO hatred of any kind for the cowboys, nor the eagles for that matter. I was happy to see the cowboys beat the eagles, as it gave the vikes a first round bye.
But, I’m assuming that you are a Cowboys fan. based on what you’ve wrote up there, its clear that you assume that jackson will be playing in the probowl, because the eagles will not make the superbowl. But then you see a need for him to send a card, from miami, pressumably because the cowboys WILL NOT be there. see where I’m headed with this? you knock him for not making the superbowl, at the same time you admit that your team will be nowhere near miami……
    You’re a moron.
