I have absolutely NO hatred of any kind for the cowboys, nor the eagles for that matter. I was happy to see the cowboys beat the eagles, as it gave the vikes a first round bye.
But, I’m assuming that you are a Cowboys fan. based on what you’ve wrote up there, its clear that you assume that jackson will be playing in the probowl, because the eagles will not make the superbowl. But then you see a need for him to send a card, from miami, pressumably because the cowboys WILL NOT be there. see where I’m headed with this? you knock him for not making the superbowl, at the same time you admit that your team will be nowhere near miami……

For all those who claim that Ebonics isn’t a legitimate dialect of English: know what you are talking about. First of all, what on earth is a “plural tense”? It’s easy to just throw out words to sound intellectually superior.
If Ebonics weren’t a legitimate dialect, then when and when not forms of “be” can be omitted would be totally random, right? This is not the case. In fact, it is extremely codified. Here is when it can’t be omitted:
1) When it’s stressed by the speaker.
2) When it’s at the end of a phrase (because it’s stressed then).
3) When it’s being used in a tense which doesn’t exist in Standard English known as the remote present. So the been in “She been married” is never omitted, and contrasts with “She [is] married”, in that the former means “She is married and has been for some considerable time.”
4) When it’s negated, as in “I ain’t no fool.” The “ain’t” will never be omitted.
5) When it’s serving as an infinitive.
6) When it’s marking habituality, as in “He be singin’”, again, contrasted with “He [is] singin’.'”
7) When it’s in the past tense.
8) When it’s first person singular.
9) When it begins a clause.
This omission is just one example of the completely rule-governed system that is Ebonics. Another example of a common sticking point: Double negation is completely normal in many languages, and used to be so in Standard English. “I ain’t no fool” is entirely grammatical in Ebonics; that’s just how it works. Compare Czech “Nikdo viděl nikoho nikde”, “Nobody saw anybody anywhere”. The ni- is a negative prefix; it appears three times to mark the one (semantic) negation.

What was his degree in and what courses did he take? I can only imagine. Perhaps the recent comment about the NFL being dominated by a bunch of thugs is absolutely accurate. I stopped paying attention to the NFL after the ridiculous Iggy Shuffle! It has only gotten worse since then with the “in your face” antics, the jumping up and down after every play and the moronic dances performed by the players after a score! Get a real job!!

The Eagles are nobody’s dummies. They lost, so they have to play 3 games in warm weather or indoors to get the Super Bowl. As opposed to maybe two games outdoors in Philly during January. Romo, el Choke-o, will be playing in a playoff game this week, loser goes home. Against the Eagles, it was lose goes to the playoffs, not really a big game. I’ll bet in the rematch it comes down to a PAT or FG for the ‘boys to win. And who is the holder? Oops!

First, can someone translate Jackson’s statement into English. Secondly, when the Eagles brought in the side show freak Vick, I gave away my tickets and began hoping they lose. When they kick Vick to the curb where he belongs, until he gets himself back into prison, where he REALLY belongs, I will be for the team they are playing against – regardless of what team that may be. It could be Satan’s minions, and I would still cheer for them over the Eagles while freak-boy Vick is wearing Eagle gear. McNabb is a top QB, he was all we needed, and yet they ruined the chemistry of the team by bringing in Vick-the-Freak. Disgusting.
