The Eagles offense finished with a season-low 228 yards in a 24-0 loss to the Cowboys.
Said Eagles WR Jason Avant, “You’ve got to get some humble pie, you know? It’s kind of weird. It’s something that didn’t happen all year.”
Eagles WR DeSean Jackson had a pair of key dropped passes, and his teammates added several more before the day was out.
Playing primarily in the nickel didn’t pay off for the Eagles on Sunday the way it had in previous weeks.
Eagles C Nick Cole, playing in place of Jamaal Jackson, botched a snap to set up the second Cowboys score of the game.
The Cowboys defense pitched a shutout for the second straight game, the first time that’s happened in franchise history.
Cowboys T Doug Free delighted his teammates by beating RB Felix Jones downfield on Jones’s 49-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
QB Tony Romo completed 24 of 34 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns, and finished the season with the lowest interception percentage by a Cowboys quarterback since 1998.
Clifton Brown of the Sporting News thinks Sunday’s performance has the Cowboys pointed in the direction of the Super Bowl.
The Cowboys ran for 179 yards, but four penalties kept offensive line coach Hudson Houck from singing his charges’ praises too much.
“The Eagles offense finished with a season-low 228 yards in a 24-0 loss to the Cowboys.”
Season-low 0 points, too.
“Playing primarily in the nickel didn’t pay off for the Eagles on Sunday the way it had in previous weeks. ”
That’s because the Cowboys know something that other teams apparently do not know. Asante Samuel isn’t very good in man coverage, and Joselio Hansen can’t cover anybody.
“Eagles C Nick Cole, playing in place of Jamaal Jackson, botched a snap to set up the second Cowboys score of the game.”
It wasn’t the best snap ever, but McNabb got his hands on it but was scared poo-less by the Cowboys pass rush and coverage schemes and never looked it into his hands.
Hmmmmm it has happened all year, Jason Avant?
Last time I checked the freakin raiders SMASHED you and shut down you offense.
I hate comments like that, basically ignoring what you did during the season.
Reminds me of what Chris Carter hypothetically said to Lamaar Woodley about his comment about other teams laying down . . . basically said don’t forget, Pittsburg “laid down” for 5 games staight. So worry about your own business.
Likewise Avant, Eagles offense has been stiffled before, and by none other than the Raiders.
cue all the Super Bowl talk from the Cowturd fans. Go ahead, get your hopes up. That’ll make it all the more fun when the Packers end the Cowplop’s seasons.
Where are all the Eagirl fans? We heard all the excuses for the first Cowboy win now I want to hear the new excuses for the Cowboys whipping their ass yesterday!
“Eagles C Nick Cole, playing in place of Jamaal Jackson, botched a snap to set up the second Cowboys score of the game.”
It was actually their third score of the game.
Cleric John Preston:
Look, I know you guys have to take comfort where you can, but a 13-9 win is hardly a smash-job. Come on, man.
Vox:
Well well well. Here we are.
Personally, I live for this shit. I can’t believe I have to wait 6 days for this game. BRING IT!
Anyone else notice how the Cowboys were playing their heart out for nothing? Way-tah waste all of you’re energy players! Thought it was funny how they were celebrating like they had won the Super Bowl when the game was over…
Guess what, Cowboy fans: You’re in for a big upset Saturday night. From a fan’s perspective, the Eagles most definitely needed to have a bad game now, rather than next week, the next week, etc..
Going to be excitin’!
Eagles choking in a clutch game, that’s never happened before either! ROTFL. Same ol’ big talking, low performing Eagles. If a team could trash talk their way into superbowl victories, they’d actually have some!
Vox, you’re the biggest homer I’ve ever seen. Cole clearly was the one who screwed up the snap. McNabb and Celek were the only Eagles to show up yesterday, and the D got it together in the 2nd half. I can’t wait for the Eagles to send the Cowboys home without a playoff win for the what, 14th straight year?
“Anyone else notice how the Cowboys were playing their heart out for nothing? ”
Oh right, now the game means nothing. I guess it meant nothing like every game the Eagirls have played since the 1960 championship.
NFC EAST Championship and a #2 (bye week) on the line…
and you get shut out.
LOL@ Eagles fans scrambling to find answers.
Cowboys weren’t even going all out. You screwed this Saturday.
“Vox, you’re the biggest homer I’ve ever seen. Cole clearly was the one who screwed up the snap.”
It hit him in the hands.
“McNabb and Celek were the only Eagles to show up yesterday, and the D got it together in the 2nd half.”
Yeah they only allowed the Cowboys to hold the ball for 18:56 minutes of the second half, allowed only 7 first downs and only like 180 yards of offense. And I’m sure that those fantastic defensive stats had nothing to do with the Cowboys playing conservative with a big lead. But yeah, I’m the homer.
That game didn’t mean anything? Are you frickin’ kidding me? Win and get a bye, lose and you’re on the road for 3 games?
Never forget – 24-0
Ok, congrats on the win Cowboy fans. But will this game mean anything if the Cowboys lose this Saturday? All the pressure in the world is on the Cowboys, and any rational fan should already know this.
As an Eagles fan I’m not going to sit here and be overconfident that we’ll take it next week. Honestly yesterday’s loss worried me. We looked our age; very very young.
LMAO @ all the speechless fagles.
this game was meaningless? hahahahah man o man I’ve heard it all now.
Lowbrow idiots.
@gnopo5: “Anyone else notice how the Cowboys were playing their heart out for nothing?”
By “nothing”, I assume you mean being able to play the next game at home as division winner instead of going on the road to Philadelphia.
Are you an Eagles coach, or something? Because they played like they thought the same way as you.
Being an Eagle fan, I don’t know how we can win on Saturday. It’s all about going into the playoffs hot. We were that team until the Cowboys beat the Saints and put up 2 shut outs against division opponents to win the East.
We’re in trouble. We got rocked. Really, really bad.

@gnop05:
They were playing for the NFC east championship and playoff seeding. If you dont know football or what you’re talking about, STFU!!
As a Cowboys fan, I enjoyed the win–and the ease with which the Cowboys handled the Eagles in both games this season. That the Eagles couldn’t adjust better after the first loss and a six-game win streak doesn’t bode well for their ability to bounce back next week.
But the Cowboys really need to stop with the stupid penalties. The Eagles won’t be shut out again next week, and mistakes like that could easily be the difference in a closer game. And it would have been a closer game if the Cowboys defense wasn’t so suffocating.
If the Eagles are smart, they’ll try to exploit that next week by pushing the Dallas O-line & Romo hard and creating lots of situations where holding, etc., are too common with the Cowboys. If they can short-circuit a few Cowboys drives that way, the game gets interesting.
But you’d like to think the Cowboys could see how blatantly that was the one weak part of their game, and fix it. But it’s been that way for years without getting fixed, so I don’t know. They’ve improved so much this year, hopefully that’s just the next thing on the list.
“We looked our age; very very young.”
The guy that couldn’t handle a snap that hit him in the hands and could not consistently hit the wide open wide receiver isn’t very young. Blame it on the young guys, don’t fix the fact that your LBs are crap, that Asante Samuel takes too many chances to be the glorious football hero, or that your DL can’t get pressure or that Sheldon Brown bites EVERY time on a pump fake. Let’s blame it on a rookie that got alligator arms late because he’d been getting popped all day, let’s blame Nick Cole for not delivering a perfect shotgun snap while feeling Jay Ratliff’s stinking breath on his ears and white-hot drool on the back of his neck while Ratliff had his filthy dirty way with him.
No, don’t fix what’s wrong, and please continue to dress a sucking chest wound with a few band-aids. These are the Eagirls after all, hottest team in the NFL after plowing through a six team group of non-playoff teams toward the end of the season.
The game meant a lot. Anyone that says different is a moron and should be banished to Kensington.
I was pissed, so pissed my wife would walk thru the room and not even make eye contact.
Andy better get his crap together.
The Cowboys earned the win, pure and simple.
“Ok, congrats on the win Cowboy fans. But will this game mean anything if the Cowboys lose this Saturday? All the pressure in the world is on the Cowboys, and any rational fan should already know this.”
Are you kidding? The Cowboys suck, remember? The Eagirls were the pre-season darlings to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. To a lot of people, they still are. Jerry Jones is all set to fire Wade Phillips, remember? Yeah, the same Wade Phillips that is now 4-2 against the Eagirls. All else aside, the Eagirls are going to have to overcome the feeling that they just may not be able to beat the Cowboys this season, not to mention the fact that the Cowboys KNOW that they can beat the Eagirls no matter where they play because they’ve already beaten them twice. If the Cowboys execute anything close to the point that they’re capable, the Eagirls don’t stand a chance and it doesn’t matter how good or bad they play. The pressure is entirely on the Eagirls to overcome themselves. And hope the Cowboys beat themselves.
Thanks for doing your part to immortalize my name, you pathetic wannabe.

You’re still here blueballs? I thought you got shut up weeks ago? Vagiants are sitting at home til next summer. Shut the hell up and enjoy real talent of the NFC playing. All of a sudden you’re a pack fan? LMAO
Idiot.
Oh well. The Eagles lost the regular season finale. Boo-hoo. It remains to be seen how much the Cowboy fans are talking next Sunday. Roy Williams still had 0 catches yesterday. The Eagles also barely used Brian Westbrook. We’ll see how boisterous the Dallas fanbase is next week.
Yes, Cole’s wobbly knuckleball snap did hit McNabb’s fingertips as he reached down for the ball, so technically it did hit his hands. Its still obviously the center’s fault on that play.
Those TOP numbers have much more to do with the fact that the offense (again, except for McNabb and Celek) completely failed to show up yesterday. After the first drive of the 2nd half, their next 5 resulted in punts after drives of 4 plays or less.
So enjoy this for the week, Dallas. Come Saturday, it’ll be a typical early postseason exit for the Cowboys.
Ummm, I’m a Ravens fan. I’m just calling it like I see it.
Anyone who knows the NFL knows that the fact that the Eagles lost to the Raiders means they aren’t for real.
Pittsburg, Eagles, Broncos, Bengals all lost to the Raiders.
Broncos and Pittsburg aren’t in the playoffs . . .
Bengals, Eagles aren’t for real.
Thats just the truth. Eagles offense is too herky-jerky
Congrats to the cowboys, they exposed that the eagles defense has been overrated and have absolutley no linebackers, and I don’t think Bradley would’ve made much difference. How about spending a 1st rounder on a LB? Just a thought. The Eagles will never learn that Barber and Witten kill em everytime, though Barber does disappear later in games. He does enough in the 1st qtr when he is fresh. Hold off on the clutch game choking comments though. The Eagles have won 5 NFC east titles and several playoff games. Romo has never exactly been Mr. clutch, at all. But for you Dallas fans, he HAS to do it next week.
“Roy Williams still had 0 catches yesterday.”
That’s almost as good as a win, right? On a more positive note, Patrick Crayton had more receiving yards than Maclin and Jackson combined. And don’t forget that on that Crayton score, Sheldon Brown not only bit on the fake to Roy Williams, he ate hook, line, sinker, rod, reel, and half the boat on that fake before he noticed that Crayton scored so don’t act like Williams didn’t have an impact. I advise the Eagirls to not cover him at all.
“The Eagles also barely used Brian Westbrook.”
The Eagirls have been better when he hasn’t played this year. 7-1 when he’s out, 4-4 when he’s played. He’s had one game where he’s gained 100 or more all-purpose yards out of eight games played. Against the Raiders in a loss. Next highest total is 72 against the Panthers in the season opener. He’s done. Finished.
“Those TOP numbers have much more to do with the fact that the offense (again, except for McNabb and Celek) completely failed to show up yesterday.”
Did they allow the Cowboys to rack up almost 500 yards of offense at 7 yards per play?
“So enjoy this for the week, Dallas. Come Saturday, it’ll be a typical early postseason exit for the Cowboys. ”
haha no, that’s typical of the Eagirls, having played in only two Super Bowls and winning none. By definition, early exits is all they’ve ever known and ever done (when they’ve actually made the playoffs). It’s all you’ve known your entire life. Eagirl fans continue to prove themselves to be the dumbest animals on the planet.
“Romo has never exactly been Mr. clutch, at all.”
Did you miss the game yesterday?
“But for you Dallas fans, he HAS to do it next week. ”
See, that’s something that you’re projecting on Cowboy fans. Sure, the undrafted guy that would rather be playing golf, with the undrafted WR and the 7th round pick WR and the WR that can’t catch HAS to win next week or, or, something really bad’s gonna happen I just know it! But the overall #2 pick with the 9-figure contract and the fast, high draft pick WRs doesn’t have to because well, he’s grinnin’ Donovan McNabb, dammit, and all he really needs to do is sell soup! And you guys will make every excuse in the world for him.
“Patrick Crayton had more receiving yards than Maclin and Jackson combined. And don’t forget that on that Crayton score, Sheldon Brown not only bit on the fake to Roy Williams, he ate hook, line, sinker, rod, reel, and half the boat on that fake before he noticed that Crayton scored so don’t act like Williams didn’t have an impact. I advise the Eagirls to not cover him at all.”
Seriously, will any of this matter if Dallas can’t win this Saturday? Will you even be on here to defend them?
karma is a bitch.
you had mike jenkins gloating in the first quarter when he knocked down a 5 yard pass.
stupid to do that when you have to play the same bunch the next week.
they both have the same 11-5 record. the eagles set a franchise record for points this year. If you think that next week is going to be this easy you are delusional.
this game is no more representational of the matchup than 44-6 was. Any game can get out of hand. The next one wont.
Yes Vox, Romo played very well yesterday. But, he has not been a clutch QB. You have to at least realize that and as a cowboy fan, be somewhat frustrated. I was complimenting the cowboys on an excellent game, yes I did watch it. They looked great in every phase. I think you missed my point. If the cowboys don’t win at home next week, everybody will be discussing how Romo can’t win in the playoffs. So, the smack talk of all the cowboy fans this week will be disregarded next week. And, do you think if the eagles don’t win, and he has another crappy game, McNabb won’t be held accountable? Absolutely he will. Nobody will be making excuses for him. It pisses us off when we see him laughing and grinning when the eagles are losing.
Again, Vox, it’s SO GOOD to see you here trash talking.
Where were you LAST YEAR?
Oh right. Hiding in your mother’s basement, crying because your Boys got taken out of the playoffs.
You know what they call someone who’s got a lot of swagger when things are going well, and hides when they’re not.
A pussy.
And since you’re fat AND ugly, to boot, you’re a big, fat, ugly pussy,
“Seriously, will any of this matter if Dallas can’t win this Saturday? Will you even be on here to defend them?”
I’m here when I want to be, for my own reasons. Sometimes that’s to defend, sometimes it’s to poke sticks at the monkeys that get so riled up about stick-poking. If you’re thinking that I feel even a tiny bit of urge or obligation to justify anything I do or do not do to the likes of you, you are mistaken. That’s the main difference between me and most of you Eagirl fans. You can’t stop reading what I post. I read your stuff when I want to make you look stupid in a response. Seriously, I’m a troll, ignore me and I might get bored and go away.
You can’t do that, and if you didn’t know it before, you’ll know it when you respond to this blatant troll.
“A pussy.”
That really hurts. I’m so upset that this guy…
http://profiles.yahoo.com/ocelot138
…thinks that I’m a pussy. I may have to eat a whole roll of lifesavers to get over that one. Seriously, get back to me when you get out of junior high school. haha did you forget your password or something? Can’t believe you haven’t changed this stuff yet.

“Yes Vox, Romo played very well yesterday. But, he has not been a clutch QB.”
Okie dokie.
“You have to at least realize that and as a cowboy fan, be somewhat frustrated.”
Not really. Four years ago I was wondering why the Cowboys were wasting a roster spot on the undrafted Tony Romo. I honestly expected another decade of wandering in the wilderness with the Cowboys looking for a franchise QB after they brought in Testaverde, then Bledsoe. And you know it doesn’t stop there. It’s hard for me to have high expectations for Tony Romo simply because of the guys he plays with. His best WR was also undrafted. Crayton was a seventh round pick. Williams can’t catch a cold. The offensive line consists mostly of castoffs from other teams. Witten is, of course, Witten, but even he was a 3rd round pick that converted to TE from defensive end. Felix Jones has a pretty good pedigree but he’s never going to be an every-down guy, and Barber may not be, either. What I do know, though, is that when Romo has been the primary starter for the whole season, the Cowboys have won the NFCE and made the playoffs two out of three years. Making the playoffs is the first challenge. The wins will come, because he’s too good for them not to. Frustrated? No. In fact I’m pretty happy with Romo, just like you’re happy with McNabb because just like I remember Henson, Carter, Hutchinson, Testaverde and Bledsoe, I know that you remember Hoying, Detmer, Peete and Brister. I just don’t think that McNabb has the intangibles. He’s going to be 34 this year, and we’ve seen his best football. I believe we have yet to see Romo’s best, and that’s saying something for the second highest rated passer in NFL history that has smashed some pretty impressive Dallas Cowboys records in a relatively short amount of time. I believe he possesses the intangibles and the post-season wins will come. He makes everyone around him better and takes responsibility for it when he has a bad game. McNabb is prone to blaming others, like he did after the game. He’s not much of a leader. Hugh Douglas said as much after he stopped cashing Lurie’s checks, and I don’t particularly care what anybody on the payroll has to say about it.

“The thing that Donovan needs — it’s been proven, especially this year — he needs other people to lead. He’s not a leader. He doesn’t want to lead. He is the leader on the field as a quarterback; he isn’t a team leader. He needs a good supporting cast.”
Makes perfect sense for a guy that notoriously lives and works out in Arizona in the off-season, away from the team. Unless they come to AZ to work out with him.
Check it out, how many games have the E-Gals won this year against playoff teams? ANSWER: 0. I think they have only beaten 1 team with a winning record and that was the Falcons without their starting QB and running back.
24-0
Also, Doug Free is a beast and an asset to the Cowboys. It will be a shame if he doesn’t start this week because our starter returns. Our TACKLE BEAT EVERY EGAL down the field and had a perfect block, OUR TACKLE.
24-0
