No matter what semantic games the Buffalo Bills are playing with their fired coaching staff, special teams coach Bobby April is no longer on the staff.
April has exercised a clause in his contract that makes him a “free agent” Tuesday, according ESPN’s John Clayton.
Long one of the best special teams coaches in football, April doesn’t figure to be a free agent for long. April is a rare difference maker at his coaching position, and doesn’t cost an owner much relatively to upgrade a team’s chances for winning.
The 56-year-old has also coached with the Steelers, Falcons, Saints and Rams.
