Boldin's status won't be known until Sunday

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin couldn’t practice today because of knee and ankle injuries. Whether he’ll be able to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers remains to be seen.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Boldin’s status likely won’t be known until Sunday.

But while the Cardinals are obviously concerned about Boldin’s availability, there’s good news for other injured Cardinals. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and free safety Antrel Rolle were both able to practice Thursday on a limited basis, and Rodgers-Cromartie described himself as “full speed.”

Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell was limited while practicing with a cast on his broken thumb but said, “I definitely want to be out there.”

  1. Losing Boldin will allow GB to put a proverbial blanket on Fitzgerald, and suddenly makes the Cardinals offense look a lot more pedestrian.
After all, I don’t think Urban is going to strike fear into the GB secondary.

  2. That damn Belichick, always fudging the injury report and not telling us the availability of players…wait, what’s that? It’s not the Patriots? Oh, ok, no problem!

  3. Choke? wtf? The Cards are the team on the spot. They were in the Superbowl last year. This is their game to lose.

  4. As a Packer fan, and someone who respects the game of Boldin, there is no way he doesn’t play…and play well. He is a baller!
    Go Pack!!!!

  5. The Card’s are on the spot?? WTF??
No one’s picking the Cards to do any damage in the playoffs this year. Everyone’s on the Cowboys or Packers bandwagon. The Pack is the hot team, they just smoked them last Sunday and did so in the preseason as well. Both times in Arizona.
I don’t know if either team is facing all that much pressure in this early round, but if there is one, it is GB.

  6. Boldin is tough as all hell. I am huge Packer fan, but have nothing but respect for the Cards, I know high ankle sprains aren’t pleasent to play on, Packer fans will remember Jennings with his missing a few games. I don’t think Boldin will miss this game, but I hope it does hamper him enough to wear he won’t be as effective as normal.

  7. boldin is a tough player, there is no doubt about it. one question though:
is his constant injury status (i.e. always seems to be on the injury report in one shape or form) the reason why arizona wont commit big money to him?

You’d rather beat them at less than their best?
I think that about says it all.

Boldin’s injury = built-in excuse for the fairy-birds when they get their sht pushed in on Sunday.

Listen to this guy folks, he gets his sht pushed in on a daily basis.
    What an idiot.

  9. Cards are 5-1 without boldin. Check it. Breaston and Doucet can fill in nicely if he doesn’t play. Even Urbahn at #4 is good enough.
The big thing was DRC, and he’s fine.
Cards win. And when they do, they will advance and they will also kill the pack’s chances of facing Favre again. LOVE IT.

  10. Anquan Boldin will be a go for this game. The guy is tough as nails and will be there for his teammates. How effective he will be is the question but Q will be participating in this game.
