Fewell to interview with Bears Monday

Perry Fewell’s interview tour spent Thursday in New Jersey, and will head to Chicago after the weekend.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Fewell has set up an interview for Monday for the Bears defensive coordinator position.  Fewell has already interviewed for the Bills head coaching job, but looks like an underdog there.

Fewell has an excellent reputation around the league and has worked for Lovie Smith in two places, so he has to be considered the favorite for the Bears job.

as a Bills fan, I wish Perry nothing but the best. The man is truly a class act. His players loved him, and the Bills defense – which had tons of injuries and very little talent – always performed admirably under his watch. I have no doubt that he will be an excellent head coach someday, just not here (Buffalo), and not now (after a decade of utter and complete incompetence).
In the meantime, he’ll be a much better D-coordinator than Little Dicky Mauron aka Skeletor.

Oh neat, another one of Lovie’s buddies to come in and do whatever he say’s instead of letting them do their job…
    Is this a re-run? I think I’ve seen this one before…

According to Ted Phillips on the chicago bears website:
The only time that Phillips appeared agitated during Tuesday’s press conference was when a reporter suggested that the Bears were rewarding mediocrity by retaining Angelo and Smith.
“That did not cross my mind that we’re rewarding mediocrity,” Phillips said. “We’re frustrated like everyone else is and we’re making changes. The changes that are being made now are not insignificant.”
Phillips didn’t skirt the issue when asked where the Bears need to improve.
“We need better players,” he said. “We need to do a better job drafting. We need to do a better job in personnel acquisition. And we need to do a better job coaching, and we’ll do that. That will get done, I’m confident.”
    Spare Me!

Yes. Yes it is a rerun and, he’s the kip: The episode will remain on a loop until the producers and the directors are all fired.

I don’t think he’s “Rerun” but he kinda looks like “Radio” on the sidelines.

Everyone has a lot of respect for Fewell. And we all hope he does well, where ever he ends up.
However, I have to say, as a bills fan, the Bills D hasnt exactly even been above average the past few years.

Not only is he one of Lovie’s pals but he was Dick Jauron’s guy in Buffalo.
The same Dick Jauron that the Bears fired before giving the keys to Lovie Gump.
Maybe they can bring back Dave Wannstedt as the defensive coordinator while they are at it.
Ted Phillips is just a bean counter and he does not know shit about football.
