We wrote earlier Thursday that there will be competition for Romeo Crennel’s services as defensive coordinator.
The Giants have now made it clear they are in on the bidding. Crennel and the Giants have already spoken on the phone.
“I know they’ve talked,” Crennel’s agent Joe Linta said to the Newark Star-Ledger. “And I’m sure they weren’t just calling him to say hi.”
Linta could be trying to drive up Crennel’s price by playing the Chiefs and Giants against each other. But Crennel, currently on vacation, is interested in setting up a meeting next week. For now, the talks have been informal.
“Let’s put it this way: Romeo and the Giants are only Facebook friends right now,” Linta said.
We’re not even sure what that means. Let’s move on to the next post.

Yeah…fat boy has been on vacation since he took the job in Cleveland five years ago!
…At the Golden Corral buffet!
Imagine how many more plates he can carry at one time with that new hip?!?!
I know this is not a seahawks article but don’t you guys think the seahawks should move to a
3-4 scheme. They have 4 great linebackers. Tatupu, leroy hill, hawthorne, and arron curry is should be great next year.
New coordinator isn’t going to fix the problems, they have glaring holes at LB and DB. Their line might be fixable, time will tell.
All the lazy veterans will love him whatever city he ends up in. Just think Willie McGinest, a check stealer if there ever was in Cleveland, rumor has it McGinest used to sneak out to the mailbox to get his paycheck.
A lazy and past their prime veteran favorite, lazy days are coming to a city near you…yippee!!
So…the Giants are thinking of moving to a 3-4? That’s surprising.
Hopefully he signs with someone that way the Browns won’t have to pay him as much for doing nothing.
Romeo has been a 3-4 guy for years. Very interesting…
“Let’s put it this way: Romeo and the Giants are only Facebook friends right now,”
I am facebook friends with Puma Swede, trust me as much as I wish otherwise, it means nothing.
I’ll bet there was some “Hoopla” involved.
They don’t a linebacker let alone 4.
Haha good old Puma, facebook friends hmm.
Bad idea
Why is this tagged for the Bengals?
Let’s make it “Facebook official.”
“Let’s put it this way: Romeo and the Giants are only Facebook friends right now,”
not that there’s anything wrong with that…
So they are Facebook friends.
They could also be…
“Myspace Misfits”
“Twittering Tweeters”
“Yahoo! Yokels”
Well, Crennel would move the team to a 3-4, and Coughlin is a 4-3 guy, so I don’t think this would be a great match. Not sure Justin Tuck could move to linebacker…
I still want Romeo in KC. Just imagine Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel in the same elevator.
Coughlin is 4-3 guy and his defense was horrendous.
Crennel will do better and Coughlin would do well to listen
Anybody surprised about this ?
Bad, bad idea. Waste of money.
But they will do it anyway.
