Steve Weatherford just reminded everyone why punters are often the butt of jokes.
The Jets punter missed his first two punts of the game with an illness, and his return is questionable. Jets kicker Jay Feely has taken over as the team’s punter.
Weatherford was seen running back and forth on the sideline at one point (in sweatpants), so it’s apparently not the type of “illness” that can be resolved with a trip to the facilities.
Weatherford was listed as questionable in Week Seventeen with a hamstring injury, but played last week.
The Bengals lead 7-0 in the first quarter after a touchdown catch by Laveranues Coles. The touchdown was set up by a short punt from Feely.

Isn’t Weatherford the punter from the Saints a couple years ago who wore his gold wrist watch while holding for field goals? He’s done nothing to improve the soft reputation of punters and kickers.
