Ruvell -
I try to give props where props are due. Gave it to Rodgers this year, GB for the win over Dallas as well as Woodson when he got D player of the month. Unlike most Viking fans I don't hate the Packers, I'm more interested in rooting for my team than rooting against a rival. Don't get me wrong, I still want to beat them and win the division and see then what happens.
I do have to disagree on the Rodgers play - the guy had his mask but brought him down by running into him. He can grab the mask but not twist, pull or turm it, which he didn't.
I was talking about all those things competting for the entertainment dollar being in one metro area, where most of the attending fan base comes from for Minnesota. And excuse me, Wisconsin does not have a terrible pro hockey team like Minnesota!
Catch up with ya on another thread!

Tom-
I was speaking to this thread specifically. There has not been nearly the complaining there should be. Let's be honest, Rodgers was taken to the ground by his facemask. A quarterback in today's day in age? Unheard of. I am surprised at how little uproar there has been from Packer fans.
I understand that Viking fans have had to deal with a lot of garbage over the years, but please don't bring up the "entertainment dollar is stretched thin" thing. There is no more to do in Minnesota than Wisconsin. Milwaukee and Madison have lots of museums and art and shows and music, too.
Rodgers threw for 442 and 4TD's and brought them back from a 21 point deficit. Favre had never come back from 17 or more until this year. In the 4th and 26 game, the Packers rushed for 212 yards, and they sacked McNabb 8 times. Favre threw for 180 and 2 picks. And that pick was one of the worst ever thrown. I lot of hate that comes out now didn't come out then. We gave Favre a pass and blamed it on 4 and 26. Gave the guy a pass for everything.
Giants. The idea to lock up Harris on Burress was a failed one. We didn't run the ball at all and were ineffective when we did. Regardless, Favre went 4-10 for 30 yards with 2 picks in the 4th and OT. The last 4 drives where a SINGLE point would have decided the game went for 0,2,7 and 0 yards.
Sorry, man. Just my thoughts. I appreciate your acknowledgement in the Woodson thread. Thanks, Tom.

Ruvell -
Your Green & Gold colored glasses are clouding your vision if you can't see that a huge number of Packer fans, regardless of admitting the other influences on the game, whined about the calls. The Viking fans are now giving back what they got from Packer fans when Adrain Peterson was facemasked on the play he fumbled in OT. I certainly don't care that they are whining, just don't complain when someone give you a hard time for it when you did it to them.
As far as Favre is concerned be sure you don't exclude all the false information the Packers were leaking to their lackeys in the press. Thompson shortly after arriving in GB clearly didn't want to continue in the Favre direction, and Favre didn't really want to stay either. Both side were wrong and should have had better line of communication and the seperation could have been handled better.
The onslaught of nasty comments though wasn't just contained in Favre threads. They permeated every Viking article, but it was the hypocritical ones that bothered me, the trash talking I can deal with despite it's imature nature. Okay, the ones were someone is wishing serious injury to a player also get me ticked.
The Viking fan base really isn't as bad as most paint it. The Vikings are competing for the fans entertainment dollars and they have a lot of competition. The Twin Cities has a team in every major sports league as well as a major university that also is represented in every major sport. There's plenty of dollars taken away by the cultural community as well. Also, the fans got turned off by Mike Lynn's leadership, McComb's poor ownership and the loosely run ship (pun intended) of Green & Tice. But let's face it the Packers have had their share too - Hornung to Jolly.
By the way, why is Rodgers getting a pass in an overtime playoff game in which he threw an opening play interception that lead to a Cardinal TD, over threw (without being rushed) a wide open WR that would have ended the game, and fumbled the last play that gave the victory to the opponent? Everyone says it's not his fault, it was the defence. But Favre throws a pick in a game inwhich the defense allows a first down on 4th & 26 during regulation and it's his fault not the D's. He throws another pick in OT against a team that completed passes at will to it's wideout (Buress) but he is to blame but not the DB. I'm just saying...

Ruvell -
That was exactly my point you knucklehead!
I've followed PFT back when Florio was an unknown making appearances on all night radio. I read the stories but not the posts until I noticed all of the comments on the Favre articles. I thought I would see a division of opinion from Viking fans. Instead I saw an onslaught of nasty comments from Packer fans. So I looked back at the Packer stories and noticed they might have a dozen or so posts and that was it, with maybe a handful from Viking fans. The Packer fans had far more posts on Vikings threads all season then they did their own. When Viking fans started posting on Packer threads in return, the Packer fans biatched about it.
That is why they are hypocrites! As I stated in my post - Packer fans did it and then complained when it was done to them. I on the otherhand have never complained about Packer fans hitting Viking threads, just the ones who are hypocritical. Some Packer fans make some good points about the Vikes, some are quite funny, while others like to give a rival some heated greif - it's all good in my book as I stated before.
You talk of Minnesota fans being classless - go back and read some of the Packe fans who have all of their clever names for the Vikings or Favre. Read how they take shots at the people of Minnesota, the tragedies that have taken place there and hurl insult after insult and then tell me if either side is any better?
While there are Packer fans who are right there with their team and not blaming the refs for the loss, just look at the posts for all of the stories related to the GB-Zona game and you'll see the huge number of posts not only complaining about the refs but have gone so far as to say the game was fixed!! Can't miss them unless you want to.

lmao@Packers didnt deserve to win cus they gave up 51points.. haha as opposed to the 45 the Cards gave up? LOL thats a great analysis.
This was a great game..both qbs deserved the win.
I dont know about the facemask not bein called altho we all know weve seen less called on Brady..anyway the 2 plays prior to that tho there was a hit to Rodgers helmet that should of been called..which would of resulted in 1st down.
alot of idiots are blaming Rodgers for this ..taking away what was a great play by the D.Rodgers is a very good qb,he will have plenty more chances.
Thank you Cards n Pack for finally giving us a ballgame this weekend. All the other games sucked..(blowouts)

lmao@Packers didnt deserve to win cus they gave up 51points.. haha as opposed to the 45 the Cards gave up? LOL thats a great analysis.
This was a great game..both qbs deserved the win.
I dont know about the facemask not bein called altho we all know weve seen less called on Brady..anyway the 2 plays prior to that tho there was a hit to Rodgers helmet that should of been called..which would of resulted in 1st down.

packers4life -
You are funny! It's the Packers fans who are hypocritical and have been ALL SEASON!!
Minnesota fans are simply pointing out that Packer fans complained about the Viking fans griping about calls, and now they are doing the exact same thing! Even going so far as to claim the game was fixed!!
They also ragged on Vikings fans for talking about going to the Super Bowl, yet made similiar claims themselves (especially recently as the playoffs approached using phrases like "running thru the playoffs" & "going all the way").
Packer fans railed on Viking fans for having a crystal ball and making predictions/presumptions, and then turn around and talk of how they'll have Rodgers for 10-15 years, Adrian Peterson will be done in a few, and how they'll dominate the division for years to come.
They rip Viking fans for lack of support and then complain when they vote for for their players for the Pro Bowl.
GB fans constantly bring up past transgressions by Viking players (no matter how long ago) but then defend their own players for their offenses.
They bombard Vikings threads, spewing their bile throughout and the gripe when Viking fans return the favor.
The Packer fans blame Favre for the loses during his time at QB but place it on the team when they lose with Rodgers.
Which makes me wonder, had Favre played yesterday for GB and thrown a pick on his first pass and fumbled on his last play, would he have been treated the same as Rodgers??
I understand giving Viking fans a hard time, I even think a little bravado from fans is simply showing support, and although it's not my style, I can take the trash talking. It's the hypocritical nature of so many of the Packer fans posts on Viking's threads that I find is a sad statement of GB fans.

I, for one, would never complain about the officials because I believe those things tend to even out over the course of the year. That's not to say the Rodger's facemask wasn't hit on the last play or on the holding call in OT, the defensive player did lead with his helmet but neither of those really tell the true story, that Jennings was open on the first play of OT and Rodgers didn't throw a good ball. That was within their grasp and they blew it. It was at that moment that they took the game out of their own hands and allow the ref's to do, or in this case, not do what they did.

The facemask rule is to prevent injury, so it states no twisting, turning or pulling. Since the league got rid of the incidental facmask call, and at no point did Adams twist, turn or pull the facemask there isn't an infraction. At worst Rodgers' helmet tips forward as captured on the SI picture mentioned by someone on this thread. Rodgers is brought down by the impact of the defender, not by a facemask as Raidrz claims. Hands to the face is generally called, again, when someone's head is turned or pushed back - not the case here. A blow to the head (to prevent injuries) generally needs to have more impact than what took place in this case - would have been ticky-tack had it been called, especially in this situation.
Complaining about Fitgerald's contact with Woodson is almost laughable considering the amount of arm-bars the Pack DBs perform over the course of a season.

24 of 28 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns against the #2 Defense in the NFL.
Kurt Warner made CWood look like a punk. CHARLES FRICKIN' WOODSON. The Packers scored at will, & STILL lost.
How, on earth, can Saints fans post things like
"the Cards don't have a shot in hell to beat the Saints if they play like that next week." ?
Play like what?
They played like that THIS week, & WON. If you can't stop the Cards, they will exploit the fact that they can do whatever they want against your D, then merely time their drives so that they have the ball LAST. Even with less than 1 minute left.
Michael Irvin said the same thing. lol. "The Cards' Defense will get shredded against the Saints" lolol. As if the Cards D could have played any worse today?! They got "shredded" today. It didn't seem to bother Warner, & the the Packer D is BETTER than the Saints' D.
Hey Irvin, the Cards will likely dominate the Saints D as badly as they did the Pack. What does it matter how the Cards' D plays?

The "face mask" was incidental, and Woodson had a "face mask" on Fitzgerald earlier that wasn't called under the same circumstance.
Packer fans, you were lucky, that the Cardinals popped the champagne after the 1st quarter and they gave you all sorts of opportunities with stupid penalites, and missed FG's, etc. But in the end, the defense finally woke up, swallowed Aaron Rodgers, and he kicked the ball right into Carlos' hands!!!!!

Can't blame the refs when the defense give up 45 and the offense turns the ball over three times.
Rodgers can't fumble the ball in that situation and should have hit Jennings on first down. That being said I like how he didn't give up when it looked like it was going to be a run away. He fought back and I like that. Hopefully he learns from this game and he comes back next year better for it.

"faggy ass pony tails" ????
Pretty sure the Vikings have zero "faggy ass pony tails," as opposed to the Packers, whose own Clay Mattews looks like a beefed up version of the 1987 Axl Rose. Not to mention that their coach looks like a real life, grown up version of Eric Cartman on Weightgain 4000.
I guarantee the Packers lose in the first round. Guarantee. You read it hear first.

What's worse is how they took the game away from the packers on that non facemask call among a few other non calls mentioned here already. That strip should have been called back with the facemask penalty. All the player played their butts off and it could have been a GREAT game had it been officiated properly

MrHumble says:
Packer defense gives up 51 pts and all they can do is blame it on the refs.........Packer fans may be some of the best team fans in the NFL but they are about the worst "football fans" as they can't understand that it was their defense that lost the game.

Please don't judge ALL Packer fans by the ones you find on this site. Most of us saw the same defensive meltdown you did, and I'm not making any excuses.
Congratulations to the Cardinals and their fans. They most certainly earned this win.
