By the end of Pete Carroll’s press conference, I was fired up to go play for the Seahawks.

My forty time needs some improvement before I join the squad, but Carroll did give some clues about the composition of his roster in the presser. Carroll made it clear he expects Matt Hasselbeck to return to the team.

At 34 years old with one year left on his contract, Hasselbeck’s status in Seattle appeared tenuous after some recent injuries.

In a variety of comments, Carroll made it sound like Hasselbeck will remain the team’s starter.

“The NFL is a quarterback-driven process,” Carroll said, “and so the fact that we have Matt Hasselbeck here is a big factor. He’s played the game, he has been a champion, he knows how to get the thing done. We’ve got to get his support group and his play to the level that gives us a chance to win.”

It became more clear after Tuesday’s events that Carroll will be the main man picking the support group.
