For the second straight year, Clancy Pendergast has lost a gig as defensive coordinator.
And despite a report that he may remain on Kansas City staff’s in some capacity, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Pendergast’s contract was terminated.
A potential spot for Pendergast, who coached in Arizona last year, could be with the Falcons as a secondary coach. But Pendergast doesn’t seem likely to get another defensive coordinator job again anytime soon.

I’d give him an interview…just to time him on how long it takes to print his name on the application form.
Watch him get a DC gig, guys like him always seem to no matter how many times they get fired.

They said “pre season matters” before the 2009 season began – “we ‘have to’ establish the winning tradition NOW because losing is just as contagious as winning.” Alas, 16 losses after the fact, the losers deux of egoli and hailme begot a product that was DOA.
egoli, hailme, charlie wipes, rummy kernel – and elsewhere mangini & mcdaniels et al – confirm it: coattail riders all in the wake the billy bullychick Midas Touch that was NE the 90′s.
As a lifelong Chiefs fan I am more convinced than even afore that KC will deliver another 16 losses (or more likely) in 2010…

I think he was being ironic, in that when a HC gets the can, very often one of his coaches gets elevated to the head spot. He was trying to imply that Haley’s days are numbered, that it wasn’t just the DC at fault for the Chiefs sucking this year.
