Are you really this stupid? What are yo really trying to say guy? Are you really comparing a guy who won two SB’s as a head coach and one as a OC to a guy who has won none. And is two games under .500 in the three seasons after your beloved SB lose. It all good though because Lovie lost a SB three years ago. Best case scenario is the Bears doing just bad enough to not make the playoffs, this way we can at least enjoy the season somewhat. The Bears fire Lovie and hire Bill Cowher and he will have a decent 1st round pick to deal with.

You are an equal idiot. The defense was run by Ron Rivera who Lovie ousted after the SB because RR didn’t adhere to all Lovie’s defensive tenets. So he fires RR and the defense has gotten worse each year. The team gives Lovie more input into the player personal and the team values athletic ability over intelligence and football ability and the team sucks. We get fast guys who are weak and stupid and it shows on the field.

Hey MoonGoat, what about the 2 horrid years we had after the Super Bowl and before Cutler got here? Was that Cutler’s fault too, even though he was in Denver? The problem is Lovie. The SB year many players over achieved but our defense was solid and what does Lovie do, bye bye Rivera and hello Bob (who??) Babich. They took a KR and gave him a $40 million dollar contract to be a WR project. You wanna use him on offense some…fine. Only Chicago though would use a guy that isn’t a WR as their #1 WR. He would be lucky to be a #3 WR on most teams but Chicago was like nope…he can be a #1 here. Not to mention we had Lloyd and Booker as WR’s???? Not to mention he basically “red shirted” 2 of our 3rd round WR picks in a row. And don’t get me started on our Cover 2 that we run even though we don’t have the players to do so. Keep hiring your friends Lovie, cause if it don’t work out this year you will be gone next year regardless of what the Bears owe you.

Lovie has done a good job getting good, young athletes, who all respect their mothers, go to church every sunday, and don’t get into trouble. I mean Urlacher hasn’t been hit with a paternity test in years (of course he is not as cool as he was a few years ago, and not bangin any (in)famous chicks).
Chicago needs, with or without Lovie, to get some players, or release the reigns and play some smash mouth, kick you in the nuts football.
It’s like their all on pain killers.
Get us some playmakers at WR, and some mean, rip your head off, DB’s and OL. And a pre-req, it shouldn’t matter if they go to church! LETS GO GRUDEN!

Lovie if your reading this PLEASE take this job. You’ve done all you can in Chicago. Why not take the long term security of a college job than stay in Chicago as a lame duck for one more year. Without major free agents or draft picks you aren’t going to turn around the Bears so do us all a favor and leave for this job.

Lovie’s stubborness will be his un-doing. He insists on running a strict Tampa 2 though he doesn’t have the players to do so. In addition, offenses have caught up to his scheme just like the West Coast offenses in the late 80s to early 90′s caught up to the 46 defense. Its a copycat league. I’m guessing at Lovie’s home he’s still watching analog tv when he’s not listening to an 8 track tape or making calls from his rotary phone. Just my two cents.

Explanation – There is now logical explanation example -in the last 10 years there is a QB with 3 playoff wins, 18 playoff interceptions, and at least 4 KNOWN retirements. This players is still considered the savior for the Vikings this year and probably will be again for Holmgren and the Browns next year. At that time he’ll likely still have 3 wins but 20 interceptions and 5 retirements.

Here’s the explanation why Lovie Smith is on the hot seat 3 years after a Super Bowl appearance: he arrogantly and stupidly dumped the coordinator primarily responsible for the teams’ success that year (Rivera), the same guy who probably will be coaching in the AFC conference championship and even the Super Bowl this year. To make it worse, the defense he took over this year as coordinator stunk it up.

Well put, though I suspect Shanahan knows how to use challenges and timeouts, something Lovie can’t quite wrap his mind around.

Does Lovie strike anyone as a rah rah guy? I can’t see him being a good recruiter for the life of me and in the SEC that would sink him. Kiffin spits the BS with the best of them.
Throw in the race angle and one losing season would have the Tennessee fans calling for his head. He’d be wise to not make that move.

I would get as far away from Jay Cutler as I could if I were Lovie – Cutler is a loser and has proven to be a loser wherever he goes. It baffles the mind why so many people think he is an elite QB. Thank God the Redskins did not get him.

Ummm……..I’m pretty sure if he goes to the Bears and asks to get out of his contract to go coach somewhere else, the Bears would owe him jack.
Usually (see Kiffin, Lane, and Rodriguez, Rich) it is the coach who owes the team a buyout when they are the ones who want to move to a different job.
