Berry fined for hit on Rodgers

The lack of a facemask call on the final play between Cardinals-Packers was, at the very least, worth debating.

The lack of a penalty on Bertrand Berry for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Aaron Rodgers two plays earlier was harder to defend. Even the NFL agrees.

Berry was fined $5,000 for the hit, an admission that the officials missed the call. If Berry was penalized, the Packers would have had a 2nd-and-10 instead of a 2nd-and-20. (Packers guard Daryn Colledge was called for a holding call on the same play.)

After the NFL’s defense of the final play, it’s no surprise that Cardinals cornerback Mike Adams wasn’t fined for fondling Rodgers’ facemask.

Other fines from the game: Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett was fined $7,500 for a horsecollar tackle, Packers safety Atari Bigby was fined $5,000 for a facemask and defensive end Cullen Jenkins was fined $5,000 for roughing the passer.
