Jones tables talk of Phillips

J.Jones.jpgCowboys owner Jerry Jones said he won’t waste time before addressing coach Wade Phillips’ status for next season, but he won’t say much about it Sunday.

“I’m not going to get into the staff tonight,” Jones said after the game.  “We had more success than generally we were expected to have.  I’m proud of that.”

A pregame report said that Phillips was likely to get a contract extension, but it remains to be seen if the dramatic 31-point loss puts Phillips back on the hot seat

The belief before Sunday was that Phillips was safe, and there was a lot of confidence in Dallas about the team’s Super Bowl chances.

Jones’ decision to let his emotions subside before saying anything further can’t be a bad thing for Phillips.

The two men will meet Monday.

Jerra is going to meet with spongebobs friend Patrick tomorrow and he will use a table cloth and a black pen. draw a line and write both men’s names on each side. He then tell him he felt he gave him 100 percent and vice versa, which the coach will agreed with. Then Jerra will draw an arch over both names and wrote “Dallas Cowboys”. “Unfortunately… See More we have this bigger thing up here,” Jones will say. “Unfortunately I’ve got to make the decision for what’s right for something a lot bigger than you, a lot bigger than me, and a lot bigger than our relationship. It’s time for us to part ways business wise.”

    Dear Vox:
See you around draft time. Time for you to go into your yearly hibernation.

Now go get a REAL coach!

    Dear Jerry,
Yes, Please extend Phillips contract. And while you are at it, lock up Romo for 6 more years.
    Sincerely,
The rest of the NFC East

My guess is fired. He looked pissed on the sidelines. Philly could always use a good D coordinator.

  7. GobiasINC_1 says: Jan 17, 2010 6:23 PM

I thought the evil has been exorcised? Maybe it’s ol’ leather face that’s the problem in Dallas. Or that QB that can’t handle the pressure of big games.
So much for being the hottest team in the league.

“We had more success than generally we were expected to have. I’m proud of that.”
HAHAHA Jerry sounds just like the loser Dallas fans and their excuses. Eagles fans were at least able to man up and say “we were beat by the better team”
Dallas fans and their owner have to make up excuses like “well no one thought we’d get this far” and that makes it all OK that Romo blew yet another late season game.
Wait, I thought all Dallas fans and the team subscribe to the motto that “unless it’s a Championship, the season is a complete failure” Or did that only go for when they had zero playoff wins? Now it’s different I guess lol. How many times have Eagles fans heard from Cowboys fans that all Andy Reid’s season are complete failure’s because he didn’t win the big one. But now that Dallas won one playoff game, they consider that a success?

  9. SlimPickens says: Jan 17, 2010 6:29 PM

Aikman mentioned that JJ has SB asperations for this team and at the very end of the telecast he said something about ‘dont be surprised if Jerrah makes a change’. or something like that

    “Leatherface fires Dough Boy”
    Pretty funny, Schooney.
    It’ll probably happen.

  15. MkePackFan says: Jan 17, 2010 6:47 PM

Though maybe not a bad thing, but JJ has to be the only owner that insists on being down on the field (home & away) for just about every Dallas game. I mean, I even saw him talking to Favre after the game.
While I guess it can be good, it really seems to be “attention seeking”. All the other owners just sit in their box and watch the game, even at the end. JJ must insist on having his leather face on the sidelines no matter how good/bad his team is doing.

  16. FireJerryJones says: Jan 17, 2010 6:54 PM

Jerry wanted a ‘softer’ HC than Parcells.
Doesn’t get much softer and player friendly than Wade.
His $3 million OC doesn’t have the answer either as they only mustered 3 points.
Jerry should turn the keys to the car over to Stephen. Won’t do it cause he loves the camera too much.
What the hell is he doing on the field shaking hands with Favre?
On the plus side, we can put the playoff win in the bank and stop hearing about December swoons.

  17. BonerJams'03 says: Jan 17, 2010 6:55 PM

I’m definitely no Cowboy lover, but that’s not true bro. It’s moreover more fans know who Jerry Jones is, therefore he gets more camera time wherever he is.
But owners come down on the field, the owner of the Saints was down there last night, Jeffrey Lurie has come down at the end of games etc etc.
I think it’s just more noticeable because it’s Jerry Jones; I’m sure if they cut to a shot of Irsay or Wilf most fans wouldn’t even know who their looking at. But Jerry definitely isn’t the only one who does it.

  18. MrHumble says: Jan 17, 2010 6:56 PM

“We had more success than generally we were expected to have. I’m proud of that.”……………what a freakin’ hypocrite the Pimp is. Ever since Dec. he has been basking in how good the cowboys were and they had SB expectations. Not just Jones either, I would like to hear from all those “experts” that have been on da’ boys bandwagon, who didn’t give the Vikes much of a chance. Even the lopsided score wasn’t indicative of how bad a spanking the Vikes put on da’ boys…..it was total domination and humiliation of “Jerry’s America’s Team”. Go back to your whorehouse of a stadium for another fake tan and some more botox Jerry. His normal fake tan wasn’t visiable today, replaced by a “ghostly white pale”…..humility does that to a person.

  19. MrHumble says: Jan 17, 2010 6:58 PM

Viking fans have heard all the trash talk since August and mainly from Packer fans who said how many times BF would be picking himself off the field, how many INT’s he would throw, how they would whoop ass on the Vikes in the dome and then when they came to Lambeau…..the boys fans said the same crap………watch, this week the experts will finally start giving the vikes some respect.

    LOLZ!!!
JERRAH JONES… hope you got a good look at what a REAL Scoreboard looks like, and if you didn’t it looks like this: 31-3!
Go home and add another addition to your face.

Oh okay, fair enough…but still, I’m sure the majority of owners are on the sidelines @ the end of games when their team is about to WIN as opposed to losing, but that’s just an opinion.

Wade Phillips is 12-8 against the rest of the NFCE.
Tony Romo is 13-10 against the rest of the NFCE.
You must relish getting your ass kicked.

“Go back to your whorehouse of a stadium for another fake tan and some more botox Jerry.”
That’s a lot of talk from a fan of a team that’s going to have to move in the very near future. Better a whorehouse than a substandard dump in the middle of a state where nobody cares about them anyway.

  36. .VoxVeritas says: Jan 17, 2010 7:59 PM

I agree, since they really haven’t had a good one since the early 90′s. So are you thinking that McDermott is going to get fired or something? I really don’t see how the 0-3gles can keep him. Hey they can always promote Brian Stewart.

  42. Whiterhino says: Jan 17, 2010 8:34 PM

Bigbluefan can only be counted on to spell the word ADIDAS, as it’s the only thing written on his greasy track suit from wherever he’s fistpumping at in North Jersey.

  43. Peoples Champ says: Jan 17, 2010 8:55 PM

    @ Bigbluefan
Learn how to spell, moron and I can see you’re still reliving that magical superbowl run. Thats all you’re gonna have for years to come as your team continues to swim in mediocrity and plenty of 6-10 years…

  46. Peoples Champ says: Jan 17, 2010 9:02 PM

Wade Phillips should stay. End of story. He’s won alot of games since he’s been here and we can definitely take the next step. Just need to tweak a few things here and there and we should be fine.

  47. Whiterhino says: Jan 17, 2010 9:06 PM

    I love it!
Cowboys fans are whining crybabies just like Keith Brooking.
Waaaaaah! We just got our asses handed to us by the Vikings but… but… remember what we did to the Eagles! WAAAAAH!
Time to pull your big boy pants on, Cowboys babies, and realize that you’re in the same place the Eagles are – the offseason – and beating them only got you one more lousy, touchdown-less week.

  48. tj3 says: Jan 17, 2010 9:07 PM

Bigblue. Don’t root for either one of them. In fact, could not be more thrilled that the pokes got their lunch handed to them.

  49. schooney says: Jan 17, 2010 9:18 PM

At least the cowpokes defensive coordinator was not asleep during the game like the Packer’s coordinator.

  50. dextermorgan says: Jan 17, 2010 9:20 PM

I for one want Wade running the show…..It is entertaining. How about them Boys!

  51. bullis says: Jan 17, 2010 9:22 PM

  52. Mr Krinkle says: Jan 17, 2010 10:16 PM

Memo to Jerry: Poor coaching does not improve with age. BTW, Tuna was right about Romo the first time. Fire Phillips, draft McCoy.
