Ray Edwards has mild MCL sprain

Vikings coach Brad Childress said earlier today that he thinks defensive end Ray Edwards (who did his best Chris Doleman impression on Sunday) “will be OK” for the NFC title game.

According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, Edwards has a mild MCL sprain.

Typically, a mild MCL sprain renders a player day-to-day.

Edwards had three sacks and six hurries against the Cowboys as he routinely beat right tackle Marc Colombo.

Viqueens, you won’t have the same success on D…..at home in the Dome the tackles won’t be looking in at the ball and Brees will make all his check downs with ease…..Can’t wait til Sunday!!!!

I hope Ray can play!! He was awesome.
    There are other reasons:
    Go to the Superbowl.
Prove you are a Pro Bowl player
Watch Favre set postseason reception record- 8 needed
Watch Farve set postseason yardage record- 224 needed
Watch Farve set postseason TD record- 3 needed
    Vikings 28 NO 27
Farve greatest QB ever. Had he played for good team for 13 of his Packer years he would have 600 TD’s , 80,000 yds. passing , and 5 SB’s

Great day Ray give us another one against the saints

  5. RWFV says: Jan 18, 2010 9:35 PM

Rest up Ray – gonna need you for Sunday.
If the vikes can take away the quick pass making Brees wait longer to get rid of the ball and If Allen and Edwards can get pressure from the outside while only bringing 4 it should be good day for the Vikes.

    FlorioWhorio,
If you don’t know he’s a Minny fan, you’re not paying attention. Dumbass.

You Saints had better get on your knees and do a little talking to the saints. You are going to need it. F— drew can’t even see over the Viks defensive line. Hey Drew better start rubbing you tongue with sandpaper this week. At least then you will used having your face in the dirt. Won’t be such a shock.

Don’t practice all week and get treatment 24/7. Sleep in a pressure chamber. Use heat, stimulators, w/e it takes

He should just rest up for the Pro Bowl the following week, because he will be playing in that game.

Ray Edwards wasn’t elected to the Pro Bowl, but nice try. If you wanna talk smack at least know you’re stuff.

I hope Saints fans realize that if our D line abuses you the way it did Dallas then your chances of winning are next to nothing.
Saints are a better team than Dallas and playing at home. They will do much better. But I wouldn’t be shocked if the boys in purple could go in there and upset them. I just hope Saints fans are as cocky and confident as Dallas fans were last week.

Ray and I bowled together in the kids leagues when we were kids. Hope you’re ok Ray. Can’t wait to see you have another great game like you had.

What are you talking about?? Saints are a better team than Dallas…maybe in the first 12 weeks of the season. Do you even remember the game where Dallas DESTROYED the Saints? The Vikings have a MUCH better D line than the Cowboys. Drew will be running for his life on Sunday!! They will be putting extra guys on the Vikes receivers trying to slow down Favre and that will just open a bigger hole for AP and Chester. It is going to be a very LONG day for the Saints!! Vikings to the Superbowl baby!!!

  15. Norseman says: Jan 19, 2010 10:40 AM

The Saints better bring a lunch Sunday. It might be a long day. I’m not saying who will win, but whoever wins will have to earn it the hard way.
I have a feeling it’s going to be a smash-mouth game. The Vikings may go with and stick with a ground game to neutralize the crowd and deflate the Brees.
No predictions; we’ll see what we’ll see. Stay cool, fans.

After watching how he moved and played after the injury, he just won’t be that effective against the Saints. As hard as it is to admit, it’s probably best that they go with Robison. He’s not getting the credit, but quite a bit of Ray’s success can be traced to our DTs collapsing the pocket and flushing Romo out of the pocket.
Without the crowd noise, no way will the pass rush be as effective. Thus, the key will be how the LBs and DBs hold up the extra second the D-linemen will need to pressure Brees — that will be very tough. If the Vikes’ offense doesn’t run the ball effectively and keep Brees off the field, and the game is a shoot out, the Saints will probably win. Yet it seems like the same national media favoritism and fan cockiness that came back to bite Dallas in the ass is happening this week, which will make a Viking win all that more sweet.

Ahh, I love it. A bunch of jealous, whiny ass PackQueer fans talking shit on a Viking thread. They talk about how great their team is even though we beat them up twice this year, they talk about how great their team is even though they were lucky to win a WC spot and were 1 and done in the playoffs allowing over 50 points to the Cards, and the Vikings are headed for the NFC Championship game. Jealously will get you PackQueer fans nowhere, so stop your crying and continue on screwing your sheep.
Now on to you Saints fans. For those of you that are talking smack, you did get your asses handed to you by the same Cowboys team that we just dismantled. Your team should have lost more games then the Vikings and you were just the beneficiary of some sad ass officiating. Washington had you beat until they got screwed by the refs, and the Falcons handled you despite having neither Matt Ryan and Michael Turner playing in that game. Had one or the other played even a quarter of that game, and the Saints get beat. So before you continue on talking shit, just remember this, their is not a team left in the playoffs more on fire the last 10 quarters of football then the Vikings. Remember that Drew Brees and your OL hasn’t seen a pass rush like the Vikings front four this year.
We all know one thing for certain, the Vikings offense can score on the Saints defense, but can Brees be effective on his back? I don’t think so. It should be a great game come Sunday.
    Skol Vikings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Vikes-N-Favre says: Jan 19, 2010 5:05 PM

Oh and I forgot, had we not been screwed by a tripping penalty on Jeff Dugan against the Steelers that never existed, we would be the #1 seed with homefield advantage. So the Saints fans can thank the officials yet again for the position they are in right now.
