I didn’t move here to brag about anything. I moved here because it’s a beautiful place with a lot more to offer than the midwest. I love the culture, I love the food, I love the scenery, and I even love about half of the people.
As to why there are no other teams in Green Bay, I think you know it’s probably because Green Bay has just under 100,000 people. It’s a wonder they can support any professional sports team at all, but they do, because they are real fans. By contrast, Seattle/Tacoma has about 3.5 million, and “your” NBA team is in Oklahoma.
If you truly held season tickets since they played in that pile of crap, and never once sold them to a fan of an opposing team like me, then respect to you. My only point is that you are the exception, and not the rule.

And “real” fans aren’t the ones selling you those tickets. It’s the fairweathers that you seem to associate yourself with that do. I implore you to sit with a “real” fan sometime and understand the passion we have for our team. Just as you have for the Packers. That’s why we take offense to your ludicrous comments that encompass a whole group of people when you obviously don’t have any clue.
And don’t talk to me about the past 1o years only. I’ve had season tickets since the Kingdome. I sat on rotting wooden bleachers in the rain at Husky Stadium.
You say you like where you live yet you despise the culture. Is this your pattern? Move to different cities and boast about how superior the fans of Green Bay are? I’m sure it’s as played out everywhere just as it is here…

Right at this moment, I think I love you, but it would take too long to explain why. LOL Let’s just say it’s nice to get back to “normal.”
For some reason, I have trouble getting this point across: There is a difference between trying to check out what’s going on with ALL the teams and stalking ONE nonrival team outside your conference, going to EVERY thread for the sole purpose of taunting and harassing those fans. It makes sense for Pack fans to go to every Vikes thread, for Eagles fans to go to every Cowboys thread, etc. For me to go to every Saints thread and harass Saints fans would be goofy.
If you caught me doing that, yes, it would be hypocritical. For a fan of the sport to scan personnel changes at different teams–usually without commenting–is perfectly normal.
Said you might be a closet Seahawks fan before I knew better. Nope, clearly you loathe where you are or loathe that you don’t fit in or loathe that your new home is stereotyped by lattes rather than, say, beer and cheese? That’s a lot of loathing. Must weigh heavy. I’ll keep my theory to myself for now.

Don’t get me wrong. I love this city, and don’t intend to go anywhere else. I’ve been to 47 states, and this is my favorite. Which is why I live here now.
I just don’t like people like you telling me which team I should root for or trying to tell me what a “real” fan is and isn’t when most of you have only recently discovered that for yourselves. (how’s your NBA team doing again?) I stayed in that snowstorm at Qwest even though my team lost miserably. At least half of your own fanbase did not. That says plenty right there.
Furthermore, if you don’t like me taking up seats that apparently belong to these so-called “real fans”, you should tell them to quit selling me their tickets.

Hey BeerCheeseSoup…what a classic argument from a Green Bay fan. I should have guessed it. What’s the deal with you guys anyway? Why the inferiority complex? I have no problem with the Packers or their fans. I agree, they are very loyal. I mean, what else is there to do in Green Bay besides watch football and go cow tipping?
And I’m not sure which “several” games you’ve gone to, but obviously not enough to notice that 95% of the people there drink beer and not coffee. And by the way, the whole Seattle/coffee joke is waaaaaaayyyyy played out. Come up with something new. Besides, why does drinking beer make you a better fan?

I live right near Seattle, I’ve been to several games.
Yes, you guys have had a great fan base. At least for about ten years or so now. Before then, you could go to a ‘Hawk game and you wouldn’t even see “fans” wearing ‘Hawk colors. Two stadiums specifically designed to trap in noise working how they’re supposed to doesn’t make up for that.
NOW, since you’ve been successful, you all represent, but you still drink your double espresso mochachino whatthehellever at the games. That’s absolutely disgraceful. Also, I was at your one snow game ever, and even with a roof over most of the seats, people were leaving. Why didn’t you just keep the dome?
I am a fan of a team with REAL loyal fans, who have been loyal fans for almost 90 years, most of which were terrible. Yet, we still sat on metal bleachers in the snow and ice to watch. We have sold out every game for a lot longer than ten years, and we have a 35 year waiting list to boot. Most of all, we drink beer, like we should. You have nothing to say to me about a “great fan base”, you douche. I’ve lived in WI. Now I live here, and there is simply no comparison.
P.S.: I will give you that you were robbed in Superbowl XL though. I may not like you all, but that would have sucked no matter what team it happened to.

Why would ANYONE want to pass up two guys who have helped build Super Bowl teams for one of “At Least They Were Cheap” Thompson’s assistants??
This is almost as poor a hire as Carroll was. Not quite though. Poor, poor Seattle fans. I’d almost feel sorry for them if they weren’t such worthless, loudmouthed, latte-chugging homers..

I have a feeling the Packers will regret keeping Thompson and losing Schneider. Thompson has done a nice job restocking the team with young talent, but he lacks the aggressiveness necessary for this team to take the next step (despite the first round trade up for Matthews). Schneider was very highly thought of with the Packers, had been around since the days of Ron Wolf despite his young age, and has a lot of connections around the league. Hope he does well.
