Waufle will interview with Raiders

As the football-following world awaits word regarding the status of the Raiders’ coaching staff, Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports that former Giants defensive line coach Mike Waufle will interview in Oakland for a “similar position.”

If by “similar” La Canfora means “same,” it could be bad news for current defensive line coach Dwaine Board, who joined the team in 2009.

Board played for the 49ers from 1979 through 1987, and he has worked as a coach with the 49ers (1990 through 2002) and the Seahawks (2003 through 2008).

Waufle served six seasons with the Giants.  He spent the six seasons before that with the Raiders.  Prior to joining the Raiders, he coached for 19 years at the college level.

Waufle will get this job. He fits in there. He will be the head coach in two seasons.

I don’t know.. The Raiders had 5 more sacks than the Giants did this season… keeep Board: all though the run defense was just awful 150 yards a game 4.5 yards a carry

Another move by Al to bring in a recycled coach in. He is OK but the Raiders need the best. Al won’t pay for the best and those he would pay won’t come to the Raiders. Continually, pathetic!

“Waufle” for a second there, I thought they were talking about Favre!

I don’t know about you but when Rich Eisen was talking about Cowboys OTackle Free and the possible meaning behind it, this shouldn’t spark as something good for the Raiders if he lands this job. They have done enough Wauffling for years.

Is Waufle related to Brett Favre?

Kevin Gilbride will be the new Head Coach, he is already bringing in NY Giant staff members .
    Waufle is the first.

    Gilbride or Jim Fassel?
Leave it to Oakland to announce defensive staff signings before a head coach is even secure or chosen.
    hilarious as it is pitiful.

    WHY???
I guess it was the 142 point the Giants defense gave up in the last 4 games … Al figures he can get a coach for real cheap.
