Eagles’ Jon Dorenbos added to Pro Bowl

Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster, making him the seventh member of the Eagles selected to this year’s Pro Bowl.

Pro Bowl coaches are allowed to add two “need” players, one of whom is typically a long snapper, and Cowboys coach Wade Phillips picked Dorenbos to handle the long snapping for the NFC squad that Phillips will coach. After Chargers coach Norv Turner picked Raiders long snapper Jon Condo, it’s noteworthy that both Pro Bowl coaches picked a player on a division rival.

This is the first Pro Bowl berth of Dorenbos’s eight-year NFL career.

The Eagles are expected to get at least one more spot on the Pro Bowl roster, with quarterback Donovan McNabb replacing either Saints quarterback Drew Brees or Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, whoever can’t play in the Pro Bowl because he’ll be playing in the Super Bowl a week later.
