How does this get you an NFL head coaching job:
2002 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 5 (tied) L Silicon Valley Classic — —
2003 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 4 (tied) W Humanitarian Bowl — —
2004 Georgia Tech 7-5 4-4 6 (tied) W Champs Sports Bowl — —
2005 Georgia Tech 7-5 5-3 3 (Coastal) L Emerald Bowl — —
2006 Georgia Tech 9-5 7-1 1 (Coastal) L Gator Bowl — —
2007 Georgia Tech 7-6 4-4 3 (Coastal) L Humanitarian Bowl
Yes, he went to bowl games… But do recruits want to hear about your trip to the Silicon Valley Classic or the fact you made the Humanitarian Bowl – TWICE?
The FACTS are he finished 3rd or lower five of his six years there. He was .500 in conference four times in six years… Again, this gets you a job only 31 other guys have?

He couldn’t do much worse than the previous coach did.

there are Skins fans out there who don’t like Shanny going in, because they think their owner can only do wrong. it’s a lose lose situation. Seems like Bill Cowher was the only choice teh fans would hands down approve of. I am sure there would have been some haters too.

Mike, do you just love to bash the Bills? Below is a comment from one of your earlier posts about how Brian Billick has openly stated that the Bills did not even contact him. But yet you still talk about how these “top name coaches” didn’t want the job or hung up the phone on the offer (you specifically mention Billick) …
“Why [G.M. Buddy Nix] had not called a coach with a Super Bowl ring, 10 wins a year for nine years, having orchestrated the highest-scoring offense and defense in the history of the league, is a question worth asking,” Billick said, per WGRZ
You really are just trying to make headlines with no respect for the truth… Get a backbone

“So Chan Gailey is the next coach of the Bills.
So plenty of Bills fans aren’t happy.”
I’m guessing the second line was true a long time before the first.
