Antonio Cromartie is no Antoine Winfield

Someone recently sent us a link to, of all things, an MMA message board containing some video from Sunday’s Jets-Chargers game, along with some faux Facebook messages exchanged by various members of the San Diego defense.

The video is eye-opening, and the phony player comments are side-splitting.

You can see it all right here.

Bottom line?  We don’t know how Cromartie has played the run in the past, but he was treating the final stages of the playoff game like a guy who doesn’t want to spend the offseason rehabbing an injury.

  1. Cromartie is the softest player in the league.
He is the exact opposite of Jammer.
All the talent in the world, but not balls.

  2. Wow, what a puss.
Did anyone call him out on this yet?
He should be getting blasted for such “Bruno” like behavior on the football field.

  3. Good stuff, LOL.
Since we are in the world of MMA message boards, somebody should have Bullshido investigate Antonio Cromartie…

  4. I saw a comment that said “one year wonder?”
Lets remove the question mark… the dude is a scrub.

  5. Cromartie is a bust. I dont see how a guy can miss a tackle that close to him in the middle of the biggest game of the season. It’s been nice knowin ya, Cromartie, Merriman, LT…

  6. Wish I could get paid millions to back away from the play and do nothing to help the team.
And the AJ Smith deletes Antonio Cromartie Contract Extension Group is f’ing hilarious !

    woooooooooooooooo!!!1

  8. Hey way to drop a mushroom cloud on our offseason plan to trade him to the Raiders.
FYI – This guy is GOING TO THE PRO BOWL!!!

  9. Charger fan here.. try and tell any Chargers fan this. Some still think LT is the greatest, though most are starting to come around. I try and tell them – by the time you realize something, it was a fact for an expert somewhere 3 years ago. No idea how Chargers started this season with no running game. Cromartie and Merriman NEED to go.

I guarantee he was one of the guys out partying Friday night. And I guarantee he can barely read.
And i can also guarantee he was thinking about a potential baby mama during the game what is the count now Cromatie?????

  11. Cromartie has been getting ripped all week long in San Diego. Charger fans are tired of his primadonna act. AJ Smith needs to kick Cromartie and his 8 kids from 7 different Baby Mama’s out on the curb.
And I will guarantee you that it was Cromartie out partying at the strip club on Friday night. And I guarantee that Shaun Phillips was right there with him.

  12. Actually the softest player in the league BY FAR is Asante Samuel. Period. Ask any Eagle/Pats fan. Im not saying he isnt a good player as he is a playmaker on DEF, but when it comes to toughness, he is pathetic. Most kickers in the league can tackle better than him

  13. @ Tinselburn
    …”except for Jeff Reed.”
I feel ya on that one

He did lay a pretty good lick on Ricky Williams once though (Dolphins/Patriots ’06 I think), can’t find the link but he knocked the sh*t out of Tricky Ricky

  14. he sucks champ bailey and reevis would have made those tackles he acts like he is so good but hes afraid to tackle anyone

  15. hahahahahaha, San Diego Chokers. This is one of the most overrated teams of all time, I swear. Nothing but paper champions.

  16. All I could remember about that play was seeing Eric Weedle get run over and never saw Cromartie. Green should’ve never got to Weddle in the first place. That’s ridiculous. I did see his half-ass attempt to tackle Braylon Edwards on a slant and just kind of tag along behind him waiting for someone else to tackle Edwards. If you can’t cover Edwards, who can you cover? How could you even show your face on the sideline after that? He should’ve been banished to the Jet’s sideline after that play. His locker should’ve been packed in a box and left on the curb outside of Chargers’ Park on Monday. Add CB to list of draft needs ASAP and send that pussy packing.

That’s true and it isn’t. Asante can HIT well, you can look back on this season and he is capable of laying the wood when he wants to. Asante is a poor tackler, mainly IMO because he doesn’t want to get hurt by the sometimes vicious knee’s of RB’s, which at what, $10mil/year give or take, you do what your friggin asked bud. Good hitter, bad tackler, there is a difference between the two. Watch the pre-season game against the Jags I believe, he was smacking guys left and right.
But thats the thing, it’s only when he wants to. Asante took more games off than just the nationally televised Cowboys game in week 9 (which must have been humiliating for him if he eventually saw it, Collinsworth saying “ok watch Asante on this next snap, he won’t even try to tackle” And sure enough the camera is close up on Asante dogging it)
The Cromartie GIF’s are hilarious, especially that he’s doing while the Chargers still had the lead in a close game. the Conference Championship no less. (the Greene run was the go ahead score wasn’t it?). I’d say Cromartie just cost himself some moolah.

  18. Cromartie or DeAngelo Hall?
    Which one is softer??
But You can’t blame them. Just look at their idol/mentor/advisor DEION SANDERS!

  19. …and during all those plays Philip Rivers was on the sidelines talking smack to Jets players. Rivers is such a great leader for Team Talk.

  20. my favorite is the LdT “action” figure on the bottom of the page. how can anyone discuss this guy as one of the greatest when he has been a no-show in every post season?
sorry but running through the swiss cheese afc west each season isnt good enough.

  21. HAHAHAHAH GO (HOME) CHARGERS! lol. what a clown. He and LT can cry on the sidelines together

  22. I wish Cason was put in on run plays and Cromartie stayed for pass plays. He’s only a cover corner. Thats why most runs go to the Offense’s left. They know Jammer will lay out anyone running to his edge. Cro USED to try to be like Jammer, which is what a young corner SHOULD do. Be a COMPLETE corner. If he stays I hope he gets demoted. That or someone gives him a new pair of balls.

  23. Winfield is a freakin’ joke. Farve gets his HGH from ERIN Henderson and the Vikings choke on their season Sunday evening. Guaranteed. PATS RULE!

  24. “my favorite is the LdT “action” figure on the bottom of the page. how can anyone discuss this guy as one of the greatest when he has been a no-show in every post season?

I don’t know what’s funnier about that action figure. The fact they made one of him sitting on the bench or the “choking hazard” sticker on the box.

  25. See Chargers fans, your team quit! Fake LT quit in a playoff game now Cromartie. If Cromartie put a hat on the RB, no way he scores on that play. Charge-less Dolts! And you talk crap about the Raiders. At least they have rings. Oh by the way, ha ha ha ha!!!! You guys lost! I still love to screw with you! Ha ha ha!
