Tommie Boyd, a Detroit Lions wide receiver in the 1990s, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct in two separate cases, the Detroit News is reporting.
According to the report, Boyd is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of accosting children for immoral purpose, and two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in a separate case. He could get life in prison if convicted.
Police say the cases date to 2007, and Boyd is accused of using his position as a track coach at Fraser High School to coerce a student who was 14 years old at the time.
Boyd played for the Lions in 1997 and 1998.
macomb county jail… i hear it’s a nice place… got concertina wire atop the fence…
As a Lions fan, let me be the first to say… who?
Yeah, been watching since the early 90s and I can’t picture this guy playing. Thought it was Stephen Boyd and my heart sank. I mean, terrible case either way, but I was one of Stephen Boyd’s biggest fans.
as a football fan, let me be first to say. A lions fan?
If you are a weirdo in 2010 you pay the crime bigtime..life in prison…hope it was worth it dumbass weirdo!
@ hendeeze – Yes, believe it or not, we do exist. Its funny, because as an NFL fan, I tend to follow my local team because I have the most exposure to them. I root for the entire NFC, just so the disappointment that the Lions bring to the table every season doesn’t make me hate the greatest sport on Earth.
yes stephen boyd was good, but his career ended all too quickly.
for several years the dome turf kept ruining lb after lb and cb after cb.
Let me be the first to clear this up. Stephen Boyd and Tommy Vardell had a child during the 90′s and it was Tommie Boyd. He grew up to become a WR exponentially fast.
