Forte, Maynard had postseason surgery

As the Bears continue to try to conduct major surgery on their coaching staff, a couple of the players recently underwent minor surgery on their lower bodies.

According to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune, running back Matt Forte has had arthroscopic knee surgery and punter Brad Maynard has undergone arthroscopic hip surgery.

Forte’s “clean-up procedure” came after an end-of-season MRI that presumably revealed loose particles in the knee. Maynard was listed as questionable with a groin injury before the Bears’ Week 16 game against the Vikings, but he still handled the leg-swinging chores.
