Raiders "vociferously deny" Jackson interviewed for top job

The Raiders have predictably denied multiple reports that Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson was interviewing for the Raiders head coaching job.

“I would vociferously deny that any head coaching interviews are taking
place while [Al Davis] is still meeting with Tom Cable,” Raiders senior executive John Herrera said.

Both reports about Jackson came from Baltimore, so it’s not a stretch to say that people close to Jackson believe he’s got a chance for the top job.  The Raiders say Jackson was just meeting for the offensive coordinator job.

NFL Network’s Mike Lombardi said that Jackson’s meeting was more “exploratory” and that Cable was set to meet with Davis again Friday.

John Herrera is, next to Brat Favre, the biggest tool in the NFL. If he wasn’t so firmly entrenched in Al Davis’ ass he’d be right out of the league. There is no way another NFL team would ever hire him based on his track record of unprofessional behavior. I’m sure he knows it.

The Raiders ARE lying, dude. It’s well established that the team has been interviewing candidates for the head coaching position. It’s been reported everywhere. And Jim Harbaugh has publicly acknowledged that he interviewed but is not interested in the position (can’t blame him).

Captain Fantastik, Dude! Pull your head out from the arses of BSPN and PFT. You think the Raiders ARE lying because you believe what you read on a Rumor Mill to be facts. You’re an idiot! Nobody but Al Davis knows what’s going on, no mysterious league sources, not even his own staff. When you realize that you’ll be better off.
Jim Harbaugh’s agent, Jack Betcha publicly denied any contact has been made. Florio even reported it on here yesterday. But here’s a link to the article on NFP. Also, Jim Fassel and Marc Trestman issued denials either personally or through their agent. So keep buring your head in the sand and believe everything you read. Moron.

  20. Raider B says: Jan 22, 2010 9:04 PM

    @ captiandumbass
heres the quote from Harbaugh’s agent himself just in case your too dumb to click on a link.
“There is no truth to the rumors that Jim Harbaugh or I have met with the Raiders,” Bechta said. “Further, Jim has not interviewed with nor been offered the head coaching job of the Oakland Raiders. Jim and Al [Davis] have a very special relationship full of mutual respect. However, the rumors circulating are absolutely false.”
So further more, his own agent even says he was never even offered the job! But wait let me guess, hes lying too? What a fool you are. Know what your talking about before you say it!

  21. Turk says: Jan 22, 2010 9:05 PM

If the Raiders are vociferously denying the report, yhen expect Hue Jackson to be named the new C of the Raders within a week. Remember when the Raiders aggresively attacked Adam Schefter’s personal integrity and called him all sorts of names for a report of his that turned out to be 100% true?

for all the morons out there…Harbaugh has a brother, who would love to coach the raiders, Al does have a son, his name is MArk, and yes BSPN, and everything is all BS.
When a deal is done the media will be the last to know, so in the interim the media likes to make fools of themselves. While at the same time if they say everybody is interviewing for a job that nobody would ever want they will look right.
Same goes for the coaches who ask to be interviewed for a job that they do not want, and then they issue reports saying they are not interested in a job that was never offered to them..
    Gotta love the hate!

  25. Raider B says: Jan 22, 2010 10:01 PM

    @ Deb,
I like how u dont quote the entire sentence as well. Nice try.

  26. Raider B says: Jan 22, 2010 10:20 PM

@ deb, no duh this is a rumor. My point is after you find out the rumor isnt true, then act like an entire organization is lying, is just dumb. Ill be the first to tell you John Herrera is dumb and needs to be fired, and jamarcus russell sucks more then your camel toe does to your mom jeans. But just admit when your wrong or even just dont say anything. Other wise u have people like captain morgan believing this garbage. I wouldnt even be surprised if cable does get fired, but dont make stuff up then act like theyre lying because u feel dumb. Like PFT does constantly especially when it comes to the raiders.

  27. Deb says: Jan 22, 2010 11:22 PM

    @Raider B …
I quoted the part of the sentence that made my point … which is that this site purposely posts rumors, and I doubt Gregg or Florio feel “dumb” if they turn out to be “way off base.” They made ya look and that’s their job.
PFT doesn’t pick on the Raiders anymore than they do any other team. The writers stir whatever pot will get attention. I’m not thrilled when they do it to my team either.
Come on–even when he’s telling the truth, Al isn’t the most believable guy in the league. Yes, any PR guy who uses the word “vociferously” in a press release should be fired. Cable may turn out okay if he can get a QB. Maybe they can trade Russell to the Cavs for Shaq. He wasn’t very good in that Shaq v. Roethlisberger show but he was better than Russell. Cable seems like a Raiders kinda guy. He should have hit Kiffin … um, made Kiffin fall out of his chair and break his jaw, too.

i just wish when you quote me you would quote the entire sentence, other wise its taken out of cotext and it doesnt complete my point. Its obvioius it was a rumor and not a fact. i never said it wasnt a rumor. I said they report rumors like they are facts! Then when they realize its wrong they try to say the raiders are lying. Anyways, the thing is no one cares about your team, i think its funny your on a Raider blog, just another Raider hater. You dont see me on any other teams blogs talking smak, cuz i just dont give a crap. I noticed you u said you dont wear mom jeans, but you must still have a camel toe. Just answer me this, is it a moose knuckle or a legit camel toe? Fupa or Gunt? Im out to go smash on a charger chear leader in a raider jersey. Peace Biotch!

“Come on–even when he’s telling the truth, Al isn’t the most believable guy in the league.”
How does this even make sense? If you know anything about Al Davis, he never even talks to the media, and when he does he holds a press conference him self so no one can misquote him like you did to me. Another piece of your retarded work. Also, how can you make a point off my blog when you dont even finish mine? Anyone can take half of a sentence and interpit it they way they want to. therefore you didnt even understand my point. Your like talking to a kid. You strike me of being a softball playing bagel bumper that tips the scale a lil over 200 lbs. We could use a fullback with your tanacity. So you can suck my dick, but then again it sounds like you wish you had a dick that could be sucked. You also say you dont wear mom jeans, but dont dispute having a camel toe. Is it a moose knuckle, fupa or gunt? Heres another one of your dumb quotes “I’m not thrilled when they do it to my team either.” The difference between Raider fans and what ever you claim you are, we actually speak on it. Take notice how i quote the entire sentence which contains your entire weak point.

  35. Deb says: Jan 23, 2010 10:53 AM

    @Raider B …
The word “vociferously” drew me to this thread like a beacon in the fog. It’s not a word teams use every day. Now I just can’t seem to turn away from this scintillating conversation.
The last time I visited a Raiders thread it was to congratulate you guys on beating my Steelers … something that happens about once a millenia. Too bad you can’t trade Russell for The Snake (Roll Tide!) and make a more consistent competition of it.
The last time I had any lengthy conversations on Raider threads I was vigorously (a much better word than “vociferously”) defending Tom Cable against what seemed to be a media hatchet job. I’m not saying people should go around whacking people, but if anyone deserved to get whacked, it was probably that weasel Hanson. Since the other coaches said it was an accident and the police dropped it, everyone else should have dropped it, too, instead of digging up 20-year-old dirt and trying to get the guy fired.
I hope these rumors are just rumors and that Cable keeps his job. The team was improving with him and he should get a shot with a real QB.
If you weren’t so thick-headed, you would have seen that I was just busting your chops about Al because everyone knows he is more secretive and media-shy than the late Howard Hughes.
I don’t have many conversations with Raider fans, but they all seem fixated on speculating about 200-pound women with penises. It’s an odd obsession for a man, but if that’s what you go for … to each his own. But I’m afraid you’d be disappointed in me. I’m a regular girl with regular girl parts. I just happen to love football.

And you being a regualr girl, ill believe it when i see it, I call BS. Thanks for addressing the fact that you misquoted me too. You cant admit it your wrong, just like these PFT guys. You feel mad dumb! When you know your wrong! Next time you try to qoute me, just quote the entire sentence which contains my entire point, maybe you will understand what im saying next time. Your the one with the reading comprehension level of a 1st grader. Your also wrong again about us beating the steelers every other millinium.
Heres our record against Pittsburgh Steelers. 1st met in 1970 10-8-0 .555
So we actually lead the steelers head to head. Put your donut down and chew on that. heres the link if you dont believe me. I dont make stuff up like you do to try to prove a point, i actually deal with facts.

    @Raider B …
You’re adorable when you’re pissed. But why soooo serious? I am just playing, or can’t you tell?
Yep, I’m well aware of the rivalry between the Steelers and Raiders. That would be why I mentioned The Snake and said “about once a millenia” since those great matchups were in the last one. Yes, the Raiders hold a lead in the head-to-head competition, but we definitely hold the lead where it counts (hint: those four Lombardis we won back in the day of that rivalry plus the two new ones).
Yes, all teams are close-mouthed to a degree. No, there’s nothing wrong with that. Belichick is a bit nutty with it. Al is just plain cussed about it because he doesn’t like anyone messing in his business. And because Al is just plain cussed.
What was I wrong about? I didn’t misquote you. I used a partial quote. Saying Al’s not the most credible guy? Most people think Al’s wacko, and wacko people aren’t usually considered credible. But I owe him one on Kiffin–so sure, I’ll say I was wrong to pick on Al. Happy?
What did I make up to prove my point? Said Cable deserves another year. Said the media should have left him alone. Said you need a better QB than Russell (you do). Said Hanson’s a weasel (don’t you think Hanson’s a weasel?) Said I’m a girly-girl who loves football. I am. Can’t tell a lie. But if you need to picture me as a 200-lb. hermaphrodite, you just go right ahead. Whatever turns you on. LOLOLOL

  41. Raider B says: Jan 23, 2010 8:09 PM

A partial quote is a misquote. And how can you say once a millenia when were beating you head to head?

  42. Raider B says: Jan 23, 2010 8:23 PM

if you put my entire quote down, u would see my point that PFT reports rumors like they are facts! I dont know how many times i have to say it. They imply that the Raiders are lying when they find out the rumors were debunked. They even posted a blog saying Al Davis is messing with the media. Answer me this, how is not saying anything messing with the media? Do they really expect him to come out and say hes condsidering firing Cable, and he’ll let them know as soon as he comes to a conclusion? And when did i say a hermaphrodite turns me on? theyre you go again making stuff up. I said “You strike me of being a softball playing bagel bumper that tips the scale a lil over 200 lbs”. I just cant see a hot girl that blogs about football and knows as much as you do. If you are great! But excuse me for being pessemistic, ive just yet to meet one.

  43. Raider B says: Jan 23, 2010 9:28 PM

Okay, now I am cracking up!! So much that I can hardly type …
“And when did i say a hermaphrodite turns me on? theyre you go again making stuff up.”
Doofus … when a man starts carrying on that I must be some big ol’ thing with a penis, it’s kinda normal to shoot back with something like “Whatever turns you on” LOL
Okay, I’ll give you that–no, not that I’m some big butch gal, but people keep telling me I’m unusual. Not interested in any other sport–wasn’t even a tomboy as a kid. All dolls and lacy dresses. But I have a brain, love football, and look like a girl. I’m not the only woman posting on PFT though. And look at Pam Oliver. Suzy Kolber. You have seen some feminine women who know football, Raider B, even if you haven’t met them in person.
Of course, PFT posts rumors–especially if they can get people riled up and commenting. That’s how Florio & co. make their $$. I thought they’d NEVER drop that Hines vs. Ben BS. Yes, the Raidahs beat us this year when we were supposed to be unleashing hell. And they’ve been in the Super Bowl this decade, too. So much for the new millenia :-)
“Yes, the Raiders hold a lead in head-to-head competition” isn’t a misquote. It just doesn’t tell the whole story ;-)
Did I mention I’m a lifelong Alabama fan? Can we agree that we can both find something to love about Kenny Stabler?

  46. Raider B says: Jan 23, 2010 10:58 PM

once again, a partial quote is a misquote. due to the fact wait, let me quote you in full “It just doesn’t tell the whole story ;-)”. So if you can admit half of a quote doesnt tell the whole story, then isnt that taking what i said out of context? Hence, making it a misquote. im done talking to a girl that claims shes a girly girl that watches football like a man. Enjoy the off season, with your accused rapist QB, wich in fact is fatter than J Bust. I cant entertain some one that argues just for the sake of arguing. And yes, Kenny Stabler is the Man, just like you. ;-)

Don’t you know there’s no such thing as an off-season in pro football! Free agency, the Combine, Draft Day, Training Camp, not to mention labor negotiations … yep, still look like a girl ;-)
    bye
