Broncos hire two coaches

Oakland wasn’t the only AFC West team making coaching news Saturday night.

The Broncos announced the hiring of Bob Ligashesky as tight ends coach and Eric Studesville as running backs coach.

Ligashesky was most recently a special teams coach in Pittsburgh.  Studesville has spent the last six years as a running backs coach in Buffalo.

The Broncos also moved some of their coaches to new positions.

Clancy Barone is now the offensive line coach, with Bob Wylie as assistant offensive line coach.  Ben McDaniels was promoted to quarterbacks coach.  Mike McCoy will remain the team’s offensive coordinator, but gave up quarterbacks coaching duties.

Well, as long as they don’t replace the defensive coordinator they’ll be fine.

As long as McDaniels is the head coach Denver will continue to fall apart. As a Chiefs fan I love it. And you’re welcome for being knocked out of any playoff chances. 44-24.

No hard feelings at all. Do you think we Denver fans wanted to see a team that lost 8 of the last 10 stumble into the playoffs? You did us a solid my man, saving further nationwide embarrassment.
Then, all of the national embarrassment went to San Diego! LOL, go figure..

“Ben McDaniels was promoted to quarterbacks coach.”
If we had an NFL-caliber QB on the roster, this would really piss me off.
Still, I’m sure Ben is one of the more qualified QB coaches out there. I have the utmost faith that this move will also turn out to be crap.

Foundation is being set. 8 – 8 or 9 – 7 next year. Then the Donkees (I truly hate them) will be what San Diego is now and basically dominate the AFC West for about 5 years with a team like SD or KC pushing them every other year or so. McDaniels did Denver a favor by getting rid of underachievers who will cost the team money which would then prevent them from doing well over the long term. Washington have fun with Shanaenabler as your coach. I was very comfortable in knowing Denver wouldn’t win (again) with him as head coach/gm.

Maybe Daddy McDaniels can come on as a consultant. And Mommy McDaniels can bake cookies.

Totally agree with you. Don’t have a horse in the AFCW race, but McDaniels is setting that team up for the long haul, not instant payoff. Now as long as he doesn’t prescribe to the Norv Turner school of playoff football then that club could be really well off in 2-3 years. Oh, and a true NFL QB wouldn’t hurt either.

…and now Chef fans are advising Bromco fans. Yeah, Todd following Herm…that’s not embarrassing?

As a KC Chiefs fan there is no question but that the Broncos have the better coach than we do…I’ll take McDaniels over our come a cropper patriot & arizona way retreads egoli & hailme 24/7/365.
Denver is a team on the way up, and with 2 1st round draft choices will only get better. whereas my Chiefs are saddled with the worst gm/hc combo in the NFL.
Another double-digit loss season looms for them in 2010 (they lost 16 games in ’09)
