Tasered Jets fan won't sue

Another week has brought another video of a Jets fan getting arrested.

At least last week’s guy was able to watch part of the game.  And avoided getting the wrong end of a taser.

Jets fan Patrick Mallon, in town with his father and brother, wound up missing the entire game while in a holding cell. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

His father Thomas Mallon is a lawyer and has successfully litigated police brutality suits.  While he calls the police report of the incident “completely inaccurate,” the Mallons won’t sue.

For the safety of Jets fans everywhere, maybe it’s good the team is done for the season.

I was at that game. IF he was acting like all the other Jets fans there. He deserved it.

What’s he going to sue for, being too stupid to due what the police tell him to do or being too drunk to do what the police tell him to do.

C’mon, the video doesn’t even show the actual tazing. I want to see him on the ground yelling “don’t taze me bro!” like that other jackass.
It’s always a pleasure to see a Jets fan arrested, but this one was somewhat lame.

I didn’t see any tasering going on. The dude would have immediately dropped to the floor.

I like to give Jets fans a hard time for being D-bags, but this video looks like nothing more than a couple of cops F-ing with Jets fans. If that guy was wearing a Colts jersey, the cps wouldnt have gotten out of their cars….

    The chant has fled a ‘fan’s cruel lips, now Tasered he lay limp;
Did not obey so he did pay – ticket gave ‘not’ a right of way.
The vested they did spake the law, Blue employed it as gave rise,
At last the scofflaw ‘got’ it: not once or twice- NO but thrice!
The price his to pay catered trip that day, down docility way, “Will be healed by Sunday” he said to self, to “watch Jets victory!”
Soon Monday aft postseason land some fans are filled with delight,
And “The Man” goes on policing does, law & order again wins each fight,
    And somewhere Saints are laughing, and, somewhere Colts do the same;

Us Jets fans are definitely rowdy at times but because I couldn’t hear what the guy said to the cop, so I don’t know which one of them are wrong in this situation.
And neither do any of you.
If the cop rolls by and the Jets fan says “Hey, you inbred product of fly-over America, I think you, your job and that ‘Goin’ Rogue’ sticker you have on the back of your squad cruiser is a joke”, than I could see why the cop would be upset.
But if the guy said “Hey, why are you driving right through us, there’s a good 500 square miles of flat land with paved roads surrounding us” than the cop is a bully.
Who knows? But god bless those brave police officers that get paid double overtime to taser visiting fans.

  24. Marc F says: Jan 26, 2010 4:59 PM

So besides the fact all you D-bags fail to mention, what exactly was this Jets fan doing wrong? standing in the road? while 2 cop cars are driving through a crowd, um, people standing in the road happens.
I’m not a Jets fan, but funny how the Jets fans are attracting so much attention.. now if they would just start arresting Cowboys fans, the world would be right..

  25. FUNSHIPM174 says: Jan 26, 2010 5:03 PM

The number of years since the Civil Rights Act was signed into law, thus guaranteeing the rights of African Americans.

But yea, “thank god this guy wasn’t black” because it would’ve given “liberals” great talking points.
Is that really all you thought of when you watched this?
I suggest you broaden your horizons. Maybe you could travel, maybe read a book not authored by Sean Hannity, maybe… wait… I got it… Take the civil service exam! Become a cop!

Videos don’t lie, but they don’t tell the whole truth either. We don’t know what was said, or what was done to cause that reaction. For all we know, he could have thrown something at one of the squad cars.
Before you all jump on the cops and say they’re all terrible people, please try and think things through. Police officers have the hardest job of anyone…everyone hates them until they need them.

  36. birdmancometh says: Jan 26, 2010 5:57 PM

C’mon Chapnasty, it’s one thing to be a Cowboys fan, but a racist too? The only reason race is even being talked about here is because that D-bag brought it up.
How do you not see this? It has nothing to do with whether or not what he said is true, it’s the fact that he felt it needed to be said. Thats the bump this society can’t get over…damn.

The cop got out of the car in a bad mood cursing right off the bat so the cop was looking for a fight and he found someone that had a few and the cop got his way
The fan well anyone that wears green is an ass but the cop was also an ass
Local cops the young ones think they are gods the way they treat people is getting out of hand
If having a few at a game is now a crime there are more then 1 million law breakers any given sunday

What exactly was that fan doing that he deserved to be thrown around like a rag doll.
I hope that he punched a girl or pulled out a gun, because if it was only that he was “in the way” then these Cops need sued.
If you notice in the video, there was a path wide enough for Refrigerator Perry to break off a 99 yard run , let alone 2 Police cruisers.
Cops acted like this in the 1960′s and it resulted in mass rioting throughout the late 60′s and early 1970′s.

  41. StreetBaller says: Jan 26, 2010 6:49 PM

I was there with my son and actually took a pic of the incident with my cell phone bcause i could not believe it. There was a crowd of jets fans, maybe 500 in the parking lot grilling, drinking beers and doing the jets cheer. there were absolutely no problems. There were colts fans on the other side doing the exact same thing but not cheering. The problem was because there was prepaid parking where the fans were. but jets fans were never told that. two cops show up and one honks his horn at a group of 20 or so. The arrested guy simply turned around and put his arms up in a “what?” gesture. HE SAID NOTHING. The cop was looking for a reason to prove how big his nads were and came flying out of his car claiming the guy said something. Not true.
And if they were going to arrest everyone there for public drinking/intox then they should have gone after all 500 jets people in the lot and the 1,500 or so colts people.
I support cops but they were COMPLETELY in the wrong on that one. They had to know he flew in from new york and yet held him anyway. Classless.

  42. Gam(e)_is_on says: Jan 26, 2010 7:02 PM

The second a police officer starts out by using profanities when confronting civilian, his credibility of handling the situation properly goes right out the window.
Talk about “The Land of the Free” and “Freedom of Speech”; these cops should be send to training camp @ European soccer stadiums. It would teach them to let verbal abuse go in one ear and out the other – its a part of the atmosphere at high level sporting events.
Clearly these officers aren’t capable of handling these kind of situations other than evaluate them as personal attacks.
What pathetic display of US law enforcement once again…..

This is simple, jet fans go crazy and stupid just like their team. Trading up for a three year QB project. Bring in a coach that has trouble with the American language. Fire the coaches after a run to the championship. Yeah right, just plain stupid.

Many cops at games are dicks–it’s a fact of life. When you’re in a situation where most people are drunk, it’s easier to get away with blatantly being an asshole and using excessive force on those people. Just another reason to not fork over ridiculous sums of money to “be there”.
Give me HD, the comfort of my own home, and not being brutalized by some asshat cop any day.

Rex gave the Jets a new scheme on defense and they became #1 in total defense his first year.
That 3 year project at quarterback already has 2 road playoff wins and a passer rating of over a 100 in the playoffs.
They didn’t fire any coaches. The coaches contracts expired, one of them took a job Tennessee to be the defensive coordinator.
But hey, if I just read headlines and didn’t put any critical, reasonable thought or research into it, I’d probably come up with the same answer you did.

Games aren’t worth going to anymore. The price is ridiculous… tv timeouts are a joke to sit through… abbreviated tailgating… you get treated like shit… if not tasered.
Being out of towners, the Jet fans gathered before the game for a little rally… no big sin here either, just a little cheering, getting pumped up for an exciting game and a little machoism… the cops drive through for the mere purpose of breaking it up. The guy who might have had a few beers is annoyed by this… as would I… paying god knows what to park in this lot and just having a good time. For this dick-wad policeman to jump out of his car, slam him against his car, tase him within 10 seconds is absolute joke.
I like the funny comments on this board and all, but wake up everyone… the sport is being away from you by corporate greedy twats.
Sit home, enjoy the game in front of your large flat screen tv… peruse your fantasy lineup away from the crappy weather, $10 beers, and trigger happy cops. If they black you out… college ball is on saturdays.

They obviously didn’t need to manhandle this kid the way they did he wasn’t even resisting. The heavy metal dick storming out of his car and confronting the kid needs his attitude adjusted, tossing around this kid because he thinks he has the right.
I guarantee that the kid is smarter, cooler, gets more girls, and is overall more well rounded than the pig who got all C’s in high school, no girls, 2-year joke college education and no friends. I think some pigs try and show off their power to make up for their lack of everything else.
This is another example of how cops abuse their power and try to show off how tough they think they are for going 3 on 1 with a kid. Just makes them look like a bunch of pussies when they do this shit.
We need cops to protect us from real criminals and quit this type of egregious behaviour.
To all you pigs out there: Just do your job properly and more people will respect you. Nobody appreciates your tough guy antics and they don’t scare anyone.
