Eagles, Browns add strength coaches

As NFL teams continue to fill out their coaching staffs for the 2010 season, two teams today announced the hiring of strength and conditioning coaches.

The Cleveland Browns announced the addition of Kent Johnston as head strength and conditioning coach, while the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have named Barry Rubin head strength and conditioning coach and Ken Croner assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Johnston is returning to football after four years out of the game. He was most recently the strength coach at Alabama in 2005, and he’s also been on the staff of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987-91), Green Bay Packers (1992-98) and Seattle Seahawks (1999-2003).

Rubin spent the last two seasons as the Eagles strength and conditioning assistant and before that was a strength coach with the Packers for 11 years. Croner was hired by the Eagles after previously working with Athletes Performance in Phoenix, where he worked with NFL players during the off-season.
