Giants hire Nunn as defensive line coach

In only a couple of years, the New York Giants’ defensive line has gone from one of the best in the league to one of the most disappointing in the league. Today the team hired a new coach whose job is to change that.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has announced that he filled the only vacancy on his coaching staff by hiring Robert Nunn to be the team’s new defensive line coach. Nunn replaces Mike Waufle, who had been the Giants’ defensive line coach for the last six years.

“I think the results will come back for us,” Coughlin said. “He will coach a very important position on our team, one that we will rely on heavily to bring us back to the level of championship play.”

Nunn coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defensive line in 2009. He has also been an assistant with the Packers, Dolphins and Redskins.
