Kurt Warner will reportedly announce his future plans at a press conference Friday at Arizona Cardinals headquarters. But he apparently hasn’t told the Cardinals what those plans are.
Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that as of Wednesday afternoon, after ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Warner would make the announcement, Warner had not informed the Cardinals of his decision, and the team hadn’t announced the timing of a press conference.
Warner’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, said “there will probably be a press conference on Friday,” but Bartelstein declined to say what the announcement would be.
Meanwhile, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that a source with knowledge of the situation says Warner is retiring and may announce his post-football plans.
On the other hand, Clark Judge of CBS Sports reports that another source said Warner could go in either direction.
And so football fans are left to speculate what Warner will do. And be thankful that Warner plans to finalize his decision in January, not August.
