Marshall not talking about future

B.Marshall.jpgBrandon Marshall looks healthy again.  The hamstring issue that led to his controversial benching in Week Seventeen has healed in time for Pro Bowl practices.

As the Denver Post points out, it could be the final time Marshall wears a Broncos helmet.  While he was reportedly pleasant off the record, the wide receiver thought it was better not to say anything about his future.

“I’m not talking,” he said. “I’ve had enough publicity.”

Mike Klis writes that the Broncos are “expected” to trade Marshall soon after the league allows it in early March.  Considering Marshall’s history, we’d be surprised if things played out so smoothly.

Marshall is going to be a top five WR for some team other than Denver. Too bad McDaniel can’t figure out a way to keep him in line… receivers like Marshall are hard to find.

  2. Chapnasty2 says: Jan 28, 2010 3:45 PM

Considering his history? I think he carried himself quite well last season and it would appear that the media wants to keep talking trash about this guy. You want the controversy so you have something to write about as it has obviously been a quiet week.

Miami offers Ted Ginn and their 2nd round pick (#11, Rd2) for Marshall…then they trade Ronnie Brown to Philadelphia for the Eagles 2nd round pick (#23, Rd2).
Miami Breakdown: Ronnie Brown and Ted Ginn for Brandon Marshall and drop down 12 picks in round 2.

  4. Davey Ricky says: Jan 28, 2010 3:49 PM

Talented player with a checkered past, knuckle head factor, and can be had at bargain basement prices? I’d be shocked if there wasn’t already a deal in place with the Bengals.

  5. SterilizeTHenry says: Jan 28, 2010 3:49 PM

This guy would have such greater value if he wasn’t like a mini T.O., as far as his attitude is concerned. Even so, I could see a team giving up at least a 1st and a 3rd for him. Keep an eye on Baltimore. Flacco needs some weapons.
Hell, Dallas gave up a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th for Roy Williams. And Marshall is a 10X better reciever than Williams is.

  6. scrapdawg12 says: Jan 28, 2010 3:49 PM

I think T.O., I mean Brandon Marshall should be traded to the Eagles for Mcnabb. Marshall is unique with his size and strength. The Eagles could use some size at the WR position. Then give the reigns to Kolb and at least Kolb will have 3 good WR’s to throw too.

  7. jwill007 says: Jan 28, 2010 3:55 PM

Cincy needs to give up their 1st and next years 4th plus L Coles for Brandon Marshall…..
    Or 2nd and next years 4th…….and Coles….
    Denver thats a great deal…..LOL

  8. Marv_Sleezy says: Jan 28, 2010 3:59 PM

Marshall is a good receiver but at the end of the day does that type of scum bag help you win…….really?

  13. shwangyo says: Jan 28, 2010 4:29 PM

why are we trading him? oh yeah bc he pulled his hamstring after standing by him through all the nonsense. McDaniels = power trip

“The hamstring issue that led to his controversial benching…”
Coaches decision, the guy who has all of the facts at hand and should have the team’s best interest at heart. Only true controversy is with blog sites like this one and with fans.

  15. SterilizeTHenry says: Jan 28, 2010 4:32 PM

Ted Ginn and a round 2 pick for Brandon Marshall? Really??? Ted Ginn sucks ass. Denver’s front office would have to be on crack to make that trade.

  16. Hap says: Jan 28, 2010 4:41 PM

Like TO earlier today, in a few years he’ll be saying it was the qb’s he played with that kept him from breaking Rice’s records.

  17. Kuya 206 says: Jan 28, 2010 4:43 PM

Come to Seattle. J. Bates helped you blossomed and you would definitely provide a true playmaker on our offense.
    Branch, 2010 5th + 2011 2nd for B Marshall?

  22. nfcbeast says: Jan 28, 2010 5:09 PM

Once a PITA always a PITA. Marshall is the new Owens!
It’s just an act, the guy is just a ticking timebomb for drama and bullshit.
But he is better than any wideout that the cowboys have, so i wouldn’t put it past them to go after him…..another “model player/citizen”

  23. BwB says: Jan 28, 2010 5:14 PM

    Kuya,
Houshmandzadeh and a 3rd rounder might land Marshall.
    deion branch? get real LADY.

  24. sdffa11 says: Jan 28, 2010 5:20 PM

why would the eagles want an almost 30 year old RB in ronnie brown? why would the broncos want a WR that cant catch in ted ginn? you people offer the most idiotic trade scenarios that have as much chance happening as i do of becoming president.

  25. andfitch82 says: Jan 28, 2010 5:41 PM

I love all the trades people are coming up with hahaha.
Marshall will command a 1st round pick, a 3rd round pick, and a conditional pick in 2011.
It will also have to be a team that is willing to resign him to a new contract. A team with cap room and a market large enough to keep him happy.
I would assume it would be a team like: Baltimore, Cleveland (Has 11 draft picks), Patriots (With Welker hurt and Moss declining), Redskins (They would do it, you know it), Giants (Common, Eli would beg for another tall wideout), and possibly The Falcons. My last choice is a long shot, but if the offer was there, I could see it happening.

  26. coach2be says: Jan 28, 2010 5:44 PM

Ravens will end up with Marshall. Flacco needs a WR badly!!

Why would somebody call a guy (Brown), who just turned 28 a month a go “almost 30″?
Why would somebody make Ted Ginn the focus of a trade for Marshall, as opposed to the 11th pick in the 2nd round?
You people really lack the understanding of NFL trade value, along with a lack of functioning capability in the addition and subtraction markets of modern mathematics…

LOL…somebody needs to buy a clue.
Marshall with his off field history and soon to be contract demands is worth a 2nd round pick and a player…tops.

  29. Chapnasty2 says: Jan 28, 2010 5:48 PM

Since I have played Madden’s Franchise mode every year since it has been avaliable, I would say the skins trade Portis, Moss, Randel El, thier entire O-Line and Snyder agrees to build a Six Flags out there for Marshall. Sounds like a good deal.

  30. Uncle Rico says: Jan 28, 2010 5:50 PM

The common denominator in all the disputes (Cutler, Marshall, Scheffler, Nolan, etc.) is Josh McDaniels. He has no clue about being a leader. And feels for some reason he must prove that he’s the biggest little dude in Denver.

Marshall is not worth a 1st round pick. Talent wise I would say yes but with all of his legal issues and attitude with the team drops him to a 2nd. If a team offers a 1st round pick I would be very surprised. With that in mind I say the Phins cut Ginn and send the Broncos a 2nd and Devone Bess

  33. HarrisonHits says: Jan 28, 2010 6:28 PM

Trade him to Detroit, St Louis, the Raiders or the Browns. He didn’t like McD ? Wait till he has to deal with Ratgini or Al Davis.

  35. VegasBronco says: Jan 28, 2010 6:48 PM

@unclerico..your website about the Broncos are visited by the 400 people in Denver who could care less about football or the Broncos.
Coach McDaniels has made only two errors in his first season as HC 1) he drafted Scheuler in the 7th who did not last through camp 2) he signed LaMont Jordan as an RB.
Remember the glass is half full not half empty.

  36. raidertg says: Jan 28, 2010 6:50 PM

With all the trades lately between the Raider and Denver I say why not one more. We need a numder reviever and Brandon has great skills on the field. Plus if he acts up Cable can lay him out

  37. SterilizeTHenry says: Jan 28, 2010 7:28 PM

    Asswipe,
Marshall will command a #1 draft pick at the least. Roy Williams was/is a bum and he was worth a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th from Dallas. Based on that, Marshall gets at least he same trade value, if not more.

    ………………………………
all the trades lately between Denver & Oakland?
last one I recall was the Willie Brown trade in 1964…
be careful what you wish for…you’ve had 2 former Broncos receivers in the last few years…
Ashlie Lelie & Javon Walker…how did that work out?

So based on a trade that the entire NFL world, including Jerry Jones homers like Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin, has unanimously declared one of the worst trades in recent years…this horrible trade is what makes Marshall worth “at least a 1st, 3rd and 6th?
    LOL…what are you smoking?

I really, really hope the Broncos keep him. Maybe they can trade McDaniels for a better coach?
I swear, if I get the chance to get see Denver this year in Florida, I’m going to get kicked out of the stadium for throwing crap at McDaniels.

I agree that Marshall will command a 1st round pick, but just because some turd overvalued roy Williams, that doesn’t mean that Marshall will get the same draft picks. Well, maybe he might, Dan Snyder is still running the Skins. Those are the only 2 idiots who would make deals like that.

Isn’t Ronnie Brown a Free Agent this year? There were talking about the Fins not bringing him back.
