Favre gets an offer he may not be able to refuse

J.Allen.jpgVikings defensive end Jared Allen wants Brett “Silver Fox” Favre back with the Vikings, and he’s willing to pay the price to make it happen.

“Silver fox,” Allen pleaded on NFL Network Friday.  “Everything but my backside loves you, but if you come back, I will let you slap my rear end every single day.  In no way gay at all, but I will take that stinging pain and I will eat it every day.”

We were going to quit speculating about Favre for a few weeks, but this should basically guarantee his return anyhow.

The league needs more guys like Allen….dudes who just love the game and have fun. Sure beats having to read about all the aholes who bitch about contracts, get busted for beating their baby’s mama’s or DUI’s.

So what, Peter King made that same offer many years ago.

  4. kazkal says: Jan 29, 2010 2:34 PM

THey need a Young QB for the future but they also need Compete now so if Favre wants to go one more year let the guy…people wanna rip on him for interception but would they have gone that far had Tjackson been QB? or sage?

Jared, meet Esera Tuaolo and Roy Simmons.
Gives a whole new meaning to business in the front, party in the back.

” In no way gay at all”……interesting that he needed to clarify that. Thanks Jared, for setting the record “straight.”

I don’t understand why so many people hate on Jared Allen. I’m a Steelers fan so I don’t care about Allen, but as an unbiased fan… I think he’s an entertaining guy with one heck of a motor.
Is he 1 deminesional? Maybe, but for someone that gets doubel digit sacks every year I don’t see how you can complain.

  11. straverse says: Jan 29, 2010 2:45 PM

The only NFL player more entertaining than Jared Allen is Ochocinco. Neither of those dudes have to worry at all about careers after football.

Umm….you don’t like reading about DUI’s but you love Jared Allen? I think you should try googling him or something.

Jared Allen got busted for a DUI on 2007, bitched about his contract before leaving the Cheifs and slapped Chilly while he was wearing a blond wig and dress. Idiot.

Jared Allen just wants to be in the Mancrunch ad

  17. Keyser says: Jan 29, 2010 2:56 PM

Um…Allen has 3 DUI’s…and got two of them within a very short period of time. He should’ve been in jail a LONG time but got out for obvious reasons.
Personally, I’d rather have a guy like Burress out on the streets who was carrying a gun for protection…rather than a guy that virtually used his vehicle as a weapon on several occasion…only getting caught 3 times for it.

    “Umm…” Cy Farnsworth….
Maybe YOU should “google” how long Jared Allen has been “clean and sober”

Seriously? Jared has been busted for DUI three times and twice within 5 months. That was the main reason why Carl Peterson was hesitant to resign Allen to longer term and franchised him instead. That lead to Allen’s refusal of resigning with KC then bitched about it publicly and that’s how he ended up in Minnesota. He did cleaned up his act, though. (So far)

    remember remember?
when Tracy Porter picked off Brett Favre at the end of regulation?
and he did the Jared Allen sack dance?
    remember?
    that was awesome…

Was this post supposed to be sarcasm or are you jsut that out of touch? Allen has THREE DUI’s in a four year span. Not but two years ago he was all about the money. Why do you think the Chiefs traded him? He wanted to be the highest paid defensive player in the league while having a year long suspension hanging over his head if he were to get busted again.

  22. edgy1957 says: Jan 29, 2010 3:13 PM

Don’t you think that it would be a good idea for the Big 4 to steal from golf and create a Seniors Tour so that these guys can live their dreams for years on end against competition that’s closer to their age? :)

  23. Majik Bullet says: Jan 29, 2010 3:14 PM

What? Vikings players want Favre back, and have inside jokes with him? But he’s a cancer, a terrible locker room guy. All of his teammates hate him. This is what the panel of expert Packer fans say all the time, and it’s not like them to make stuff up to hate on Favre about. Oh, right…

  24. Love_Boat_Scandal says: Jan 29, 2010 3:20 PM

And that, PFT readers, is all you need to know about the Minnesota Vikings.

  25. onlineinsite says: Jan 29, 2010 3:28 PM

Awesome stuff! It’s so refreshing to hear from JA because he’s quick on his feet and doesn’t toe the corporate line. He’s great for the game.
Thanks “SteelCurtnDee” for an honest thought.
What is with all the hating anyway? Seriously, DUIs? How long have you been asleep? Irrelevant? Right, that’s why he’s a Pro-Bowler every year.

  26. XxChAoS32xX says: Jan 29, 2010 3:37 PM

I love how most Vikings fans can hate on Brett Favre for 17 years, talk shit at the end of every season since 2001 saying how he is too old and washed up and needs to retire but they get the guy for a single year and all I hear is how Brett is one of the best QBs of all-time and he has no reason to retire.
Oh, and its not just Viking fans that basically kissing his ass for him to come back, pretty much everyone in the media seems to be saying “just come back Brett, you can still play.At-least I can understand why the Viking (and fans) are kissing his ass.

Seriously. That’s why I like OJ so much too – I get tired of all these ex-athletes who get arrested for double murder, it’s nice to be able to count on the lovable goof in the Hertz commercials.

@favres_right_tendon: Oh, I just love the casual racism. Allen had three DUI’s, but he’s just a good ol’ boy. However, those over-privileged thugs (read: black players) racking up DUIs is just an epidemic!
I know, I know, the Merrill Hoges, Peter Kings, and Colin Cowherds of the media are right on board with you, but still, it wouldn’t hurt to do a quick fact check.

  32. favresux says: Jan 29, 2010 5:29 PM

maybe even drink some beer together, hold hands, swap spit and other bodily fluids!

  33. mike says: Jan 29, 2010 5:34 PM

Allen wants Favre back cause he knows the other vikings qbs are crap. Without Favre the media spotlight will shift away from the vikings

  34. scrapdawg12 says: Jan 29, 2010 5:35 PM

RETIRE…..Warner did it today, Favre should do it. He stinks, sucks, over rated, can’t stand him and on and on I could go. When a big moment happens, Favre throws an INT. He’s done it many times.

  35. Loqi says: Jan 29, 2010 5:44 PM

For the first time ever, Jared Allen made me laugh with him, rather than at him. It almost makes up for his mullet. And those DUIs. Well, not really the DUIs, but I guess the mullet is forgivable.

  36. mike says: Jan 29, 2010 5:45 PM

Willingly letting someone slap your butt daily sounds pretty gay to me.
