Just a few days after an embarrassing arrest, and some potentially embarrassing details with it, Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga took to Twitter Monday to apologize.
“Sorry for bringing humiliation and embarrassment to this organization and to this great city of Cincinnati,” he wrote. (We’ve edited for spelling improvement.)
“To Bengals nation and my fans, sorry for letting you guys down and for doing what I did. I hope that you guys continue to support me in all I do! I know its gonna be hard to believe me but I will do everything in my power to gain your trust back! I will definitely learn from this!”
Maualuga was arrested on charges of drunken driving and careless driving after he allegedly struck two parked cars and a parking meter. The USC grad previously underwent alcohol counseling from some incidents in college that hurt his draft stock.
