At roughly this time last winter, B.C. Lions defensive end Cameron Wake drew considerable NFL interest after winning the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in back-to-back seasons while racking up 39 sacks.
Wake ultimately signed with the Dolphins, who converted him to outside linebacker. He had six sacks as a rookie, playing mostly in obvious pass-rushing situations.
Meet Ricky Foley, who took Wake’s position with British Columbia last year and had 12 sacks. He is getting interest from the NFL as well.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Foley tied for the CFL lead with 12 sacks despite playing through a broken thumb and won the league’s top Canadian award.
According to Foley’s agent, he will be visiting with the Jets, Patriots, and Rams over the next three days.

the real catch may be their position coach in the cfl. get him and he will coach all yer players up.
Rick Foley is one of my favorite pro wrestlers of all time.
Forget Foley, get that Defensive coordinator.
what about his brother axel
Go Canada
I am not saying that Foley won’t make the NFL, but he is no where near the player that Wake was/is, I predict that if he does make it he will only be on special teams the first year at best. A DE to look out for tho is John Chick who the Colts signed altho I doubt he makes their team I am sure he will make some team and make the kind of impact that Wake did this year.
Cam Wake is a beast. He was Miami’s most effective pass rusher this season. He only played a couple of snaps per game because of that diva (Porter) was unwilling to leave the field. He’ll have double digit sack numbers once his role increases.
Buffalo should’ve run better border patrol … they let Wake slip thru too easily …
he’s no cameron wake
I’m a big BC Lions fan, and Foley is a great passrusher, but Wake was an absolute beast, a freakish athlete who could have probably lined up at fullback or slotback – for people unfamiliar with the Canadian game, halfway between a WR and TE – and done fine.
I’m not sure Foley is athletic enough to be an impact player at the NFL level. Like Wake, he’ll be swapped to linebacker, but I’m not sure he’s quick enough to be a factor.
Seems like the Leos are a good place for NFL teams to do scouting. They’ve already snagged our top tailback, and if they get Foley, our best passrusher.
Hands off Emmanuel Arceneaux, though. We need all the speed we can keep!
ECHO Echo echo.
Foley’s good. Wake is a special talent.
if his nickname isn’t Mankind…well, I’d be disappointed in the land up north.
