At roughly this time last winter, B.C. Lions defensive end Cameron Wake drew considerable NFL interest after winning the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in back-to-back seasons while racking up 39 sacks.
Wake ultimately signed with the Dolphins, who converted him to outside linebacker. He had six sacks as a rookie, playing mostly in obvious pass-rushing situations.
Meet Ricky Foley, who took Wake’s position with British Columbia last year and had 12 sacks. He is getting interest from the NFL as well.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Foley tied for the CFL lead with 12 sacks despite playing through a broken thumb and won the league’s top Canadian award.
According to Foley’s agent, he will be visiting with the Jets, Patriots, and Rams over the next three days.
