The neck injury that ended Texans running back Steve Slaton’s season required surgery, Texans coach Gary Kubiak revealed Tuesday on the Score 1510.
“I’m hoping by getting him well again he goes back to what he was as a rookie, and we’ve got to get better up front,” Kubiak said.
Slaton’s surgery happened two weeks ago and his recovery timeline is unclear. Between the injury and the loss of both of Houston’s starting guards, it appears Kubiak is willing to give Slaton somewhat of a pass for his disappointing second season.
Still, we’d be surprised if the Texans don’t pick up more help at running back this offseason to go with Slaton and rising talent Arian Foster.
Uh, neck surgery (ie Microdiscectomy or Fusion) is not a good sign for an NFL player to continue their career in the same concussion type fashion.
Where is The Score 1510 broadcast from? That’s definitely not a Houston station.
So what youre telling me is that the Packers still suck. Ok…I agree.
I love that a black guy is named Arian.
*palm to face*
Fans and commentators sharply criticize Slaton’s performance even though, as we now know, it was the product of a neck injury.
Same thing with Randy Moss. “He’s dogging it,” they say. Now, we know, he was playing with a separated shoulder.
Next time, how about refraining from criticizing what appears to be a sudden drop in performance until we know all the facts?
How come on basically every thread there is some jackass that feels to take a shot at the Packers? Get well Slaton, neck injuries are serious and I need you back for my keeper fantasy football league. I see atleast 1200 and 10 TDs for Slaton next year.
