Nike Nabs Ndamukong Suh

Nike announced via press release Wednesday that it has signed Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who is widely expected to be the No. 1 pick in April’s draft.

The 2009 college National Player of the Year, Suh is a Portland native.  Nike, of course, is based out of Beaverton, Oregon.
Terms of the contract aren’t available yet, but it will serve to supplement the $60 million-plus deal he’ll get from the Rams.  Or Lions.  Or Bucs.
But most likely the Rams.

    If he falls to the Bucs, the Rams and Lions deserve to suck for the rest of eternity for not drafting this guy(maybe I’m being to harsh).

    Is that pretty standard procedure to sign a guy like that this early?

  3. slipkid says: Feb 3, 2010 8:59 PM

    maybe adidas will sue.

    The Rams and Lions may suck for the rest of eternity no matter what…might as well deserve it!

    i was hoping he would sign with vans,and star in comercails with jeff spacoli.

    Suh will be good, but won’t live up to the hype of being the #1 overall pick.

  7. ShruggingGalt says: Feb 3, 2010 9:18 PM

    The Rams need a QB more than a DE. Considering that this year’s QB class is rather dull, they may just choose him. Of course luck would have it that the Cardinals will choose McCoy, so McCoy will get chased by Suh *twice* a year.

    Bucs to get Suh #1 and Rams go QB

    To Shaggeez
    Nike + beating out all the rest = good business.
    Why do folks have to try and find something negative in such a GREAT story!?

    ShruggingGalt :
    why would the cardinals draft McCoy? he’s a later round system short QB. Your comment makes zero sense.

    Don’t say the Bucs… why even do that to us Bucs fans? We’re just down here chilling. minding our own business and then you gotta tease us with that little comment.

    @grandavenue
    I don’t exactly see what was negative about a genuine question. I just didn’t remember in years past having current college students already signed to promotion deals. obviously, more power to him but it was more out of curiosity than anything. get a grip on yourself.

    A wise choice for Suh. I mean what image driven footballplayer wouldn’t want to be linked to the sponsor of Michael Vick and Tiger Woods.

    I can’t wait to get my “Air Ndamukongs.”

    @Shaggeez
    Read the other comments above, “innocent questions” are usually aimed at finding negative things. Why would anyone wonder if this is “normal”. How is it not? Athletes sign deals based on their image all the time. He doesn’t have to be drafted to cash in on his fame. His fame can last for 15 years or 15 seconds. If opportunity knocks, ANSWER.
    If you weren’t being negative, great, but read above. Plenty of people like to try and bring people down.
    Congrats Suh, I hope he cashes in every penny he can on his recent found fame. Darn proud of the guy.

    are you retarded? the Rams LOVED Sanchez but took an O-Tackle over him. Spags is a defensive guy. There are no potential Manning’s in this year’s class. Rams biggest problem on defense is they cant get off the field on 3rd and shorts (not including the offense is so bad it works against the defense). They take Suh first overall, and take Pike or that kid from Central Mich who everyone is jocking right now in the second with no need to give up the best player in teh draft. Whatever QB the Rams draft, which they will, will be second fiddle to the best RB in football, SJax.

    Yup. They signed Lebron to a $100 million contract before he was even drafted, I think.

    Heck no! Comes from a wholesome family, extra super humble kid, went to a school like Nebraska – no drugs or fifty million tattoo’s
    He reminds a little bit of a defensive Joe Thomas! Blue collar, hard worker
