You all do know that Rex Ryan had horrible defenses when he was D coordinator for the Bengals for 2 years in the late 90s. Yeah, the ravens were idiots for hiring him later as their coordinator. Seriously, we always have a bunch of normal job yahoos posting on every NFL personnel decision as if they know better. Ya, ya, I know. You all scored 5 touchdowns in one game for Polk High . . . .Just shaddup will ya.

I’m curious as to why there’s no bashing of George Edwards from the Peanut Gallery?
If it’s not OK for Lane Kiffin to jump from Tennessee after a year for his dream job at USC… why then is it OK for Florida’s Defensive Coordinator to jump ship after only (1) month?
I understand that Edwards is not Florida’s HC, but come on people, Defensive players signed on the dotted line with Florida to play in a defensive scheme, run by a specific Defensive Coordinator!
Rosenthal’s last paragraph stated “We can’t help but think the school made sure to keep Edwards’ departure quiet until the day was through.”
So my question is this PFT… why is it OK for a D Coordinator to jump ship, but not a HC?

You are all idiots if you think that just because you have never heard of the guy means he can’t be a defensive coordinator. Name all the coordinators in the NFL. Oh you can’t? So idiotic and ignorant of all of you to just dismiss this as a dumb move. The worst one is the guy who said ‘since he coached terrible inside LB’s on the Dolphins and he is now the Bills’ DC, Fins will go 2-0 vs them this year.’ Genius. Pure genius.

Herm Edwards is an ESPN analyst these days. He most likely wont accept any gig other then head coach (he might be waiting awhile).
On the topic, I just dont understand the hire. The guy was a horrible position coach last year and that leads to an NFL promotion? There had to of been a much better qualified canidate out there then him. This is the first move of Buddy Nix I have disagreed with. I dont know maybe he knows something we dont?

Talk about a bad move……given the talent at Florida, he should have stayed there for a while and would have ended up as a HC in another college eventually. With the Bills, he could be out of a job in a couple of years.

I love it, the guy who coached the worst inside linebackers in the NFL is now coaching the defense of one of the Dolphins biggest rivals. Go ahead and mark it down Phins 2-0 in 2010 against the Bills.
