Lance Moore is ready to roll

Saints receiver Lance Moore is getting healthy at the right time.

“It’s been a long road to get here,” an excited Moore told me Thursday morning. “It’s been a long season personally with me being injured most of the year.  Just to have the opportunity to get back and be healthy at the right time is a blessing.”

Moore was New Orleans’ leading receiver in 2008, but caught only 14 passes in the regular season — three in the playoffs — because of hamstring and ankle problems.  When he’s right, Moore is a guy Drew Brees loves to look to on third downs. He’s like a poor man’s Steve Smith.  (Of the Giants.)

“I feel great. This is definitely the best I’ve felt since the beginning of the season,” Moore said. “I’m definitely excited about the gameplan.”

If there is a weakness to the Colts pass defense, it’s that you can sometimes make plays over the middle against them.  Jeremy Shockey, Marques Colston, and possibly a healthy Moore will test the Colts up the seams.

  1. I think the Saints win this game. A steady dose of Bush, Thomas and Mike Bell at Freeney’s replacement to take there energy away and then once they can work the play action to all of their WR’s. Manning can put up all the points he wants but if the Colts cant stop Brees they have no chance.

  2. Remember a few seasons ago when Marvin Harrison missed almost the entire season and then tried to play in the Playoff game against San Diego???
    1 pass caught, 1 Fumble.
Your can’t just up and “atom”

  3. The 5 sets with Reggie are going to give the Colts fits. It does not matter which ankle is hurting. Brees is gonna have a huge day…

  4. Moore is about the 5th option…so if you’re suggesting they may have a chance with Moore…you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about for one and 2nd When they go to a 4-5 wide with Reggie out there….whose going to stick him…Brackett….Sessions….Bethea…please!!
The real question is whether or not the Colts can keep up with the Saints and the #1 offense….but since Favre’s not here you guys need to rub on Manning and pray for a victory over the Saints.
Who Dat!! The media doesn’t need to show the love cause the Saints are just going to hit them with reality on Sunday when its all said and Done and the Lombardi Trophy will be in New Orleans!
